Garth Wood vs Anthony Mundine Result (spoiler)

Anthony Mundine wins 96-92, 96-92 and 95-93. 10 round war between the 2 Aussies. Awful refereeing and a lot of holding but a lot of action. Mundine deserved the win but it was real close after 8 rounds. Mundine got a knock down in the 9th and then again in the 10th to pull him ahead.

Mundine said after the fight that he wants to move down to Junior Middleweight which I think is a bad idea.

mundine did deserve the decision & agree there was a lot of holding & action,but really wasn't a lot of fighting or boxing.mundine knew distance was his friend & speed was his ally.this bout showed what a novice wood is & how far mundine has fallen from his not too lofty height.he talks of taking on the world but fights lesser & lesser opponents.until he challenges himself he will remain,like this fight a yawn!

I don't understand why Mundine wants to move down another division. He looks like he hasn't eaten in months as it is.

it's closer to where most of the money men compete.at middleweight there's martinez who would break mundine.in the end though it's not important,again he said he's ready to fight the best but we've been hearing that since the echols fight & here is in struggling with a 12 fight crude novice,of which 3 or 4 fights were not even 10 rounders.

If Mundine wants any chance of a last trinket he should look for the Geale vs Sylvester winner.

He's 35 and moving down in weight. He played rugby league at around 200 pounds, is now fighting at 160 and wants to fight at 154. Crazy I think.

Well the way Mayweather acts that fight probably isn't a crazy idea I mean if Danny Green is making enough dough to lure out the likes of Tarver, Roy Jones and even bring Hopkins to the table, then Flod's IRS troubles could explore the idea of an Aussie fight

freak it's not the weight difference from league that's important but his natural weight(a bit above middlewight)that matters.besides the fact money men are near jm,higher weight guys pack punch to ko him.anyway his weights not really important while he fights c grade level(with the exception of geale)

good point ali,plus flod would know mundine doesn't have speed or pop to hurt him,though i'm not sure the money would be enough interest here or the interest elsewhere high enough to help his irs probs

It doesn't matter where the money men are because he wont fight them anyway. His natural weight is around 190 pounds anyway.

you're right freak,not only won't he fight them,he's done zero to deserve to fight him,the 190lbs you talk of was his league weight,which is much more than his natural weight.take a look at daniel mortimer as an examle,he hasgained over 10kgs since he started nrl.

I would guess his fight night weight should be 175-180. That makes middleweight a solid but not risky cut and SMW a very small cut.
