Gamboa vs. Jorge Solis on HBO Saturday

At Atlantic City, N.J. (HBO): Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Jorge Solis, 12 rounds, for Gamboa's WBA/IBF featherweight title; Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia vs. Matt Remillard, 10 rounds, featherweights.

The mexican Solis has only lost 2 times in 45 fights, including an 8th round KO to Manny Pacquiao in 2007. (no shame in that) The question is can anyone defeat Gamboa right now? I'll go with Gamboa by brutal KO in 6 rounds or less.

I'm not too excited about this one. BUt for some reason, I am quite excited for Berto vs Ortiz next month

I think Solis has a good shot of an upset.

Yeah, maybe "surfer" Ortiz will grow a pair and kick Berto's ass (we can hope). Gamboa-Solis, may not be anything to get excited about, but it deserves a look.

Gamboa isn't unbeatable at all, he's been dropped multiple times.

Solis might be awkward but I think Gamboa quick hands will get to him eventually

Gamboa isn't unbeatable at all, he's been dropped multiple times.

Gamboa gets knocked down, but it's usually a 'flash', and I don't recall him ever being hurt, it's due in part to the way he fights. Just saying, I don't see Solis being much of a threat to upset, Gamboa is too fast, has too much skill and too much power, it's going to take someone like JuanMa or maybe Donaire down the road to do that.

I doubt Gamboa gets a late KO. Maybe a stoppage. But his power/explosiveness fades throughout fights. I'll pick him on points.

I believe Gamboa wants to make a statement, Jorge Solis will be toast in 6 rounds or less.

Solis is a rugged Super Featherweight who's only ever been stopped by Manny Pacquiao, I have a feeling Jorge will give Gamboa a tough fight but will lose a decision.
