He looks to make every fight ugly.
Although their first fight actually had alot less holding and BHOPness than normal.

And he drew. This one will be gross because he lost points on KD's which cost him the fight.

I'm tempted to go catch this fight, but I hear you about it being ugly. Hopkins will pull out every trick in the book to slow this down to a pace he can actually fight at. But he does have EVERY trick in the book, so who knows.
It's on to Pascal to speed up the fight up and either finish the job early and take him out, or overwhelm him like Joe C did.

You should go Tobe, Hopkins might be ugly at times but you should see him fight while he's got something left in the tank. The man is a legend.

I think Pascal going to win this, and a lot more convincingly. He knew that he let Hops into the fight. And he's not going to let up this time. And by the time he does let up say in the later rounds, he'll have a huge lead by then that it won't matter.
He might even knock Hops out. If he hadn't let up, I think he could knocked him out the last fight.

Kinda what Im thinking too, he dropped him twice. He probably wont step off the gas and let Hopkins back in the fight

Re: Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins II heading to Montreal
there has to be a point when Bernard's body won't cooperate with what his mind wants to do...... surely??? i think Hopkins really let it all hang out in his last fight with Pascal, you know he put a lot of effort into getting that draw and by the end of it he had thought he had done enough to win. i really think that will have taken a lot out of Bernard. that was a tough fight, not none of this 12 messy rounds with a faded Roy Jones, Bernard had to work super hard to get that draw. i know we've all said it before, but i think that perfomance must have taken a lot out of the 46 year old's body. also Hopkins was legitimately put down twice by Pascal, when does that ever happen to B-Hop?? i think maybe that is a telling sign. at the end of the bout Hopkins' reaction was that of a man that had poured everything he had into the performance to get that draw, he looked really tired and spent. not like when Calzaghe beat him, after that fight Hopkins was still pretty fresh looking, he looked tired after the Pascal fight. i think there may be a few telling signs there. although Hopkins, who truly is a remarkable athlete, seems to defy natural order there is an old saying that says that time waits for no man. Hopkins body can't keep putting in performances like he did his last one, and that was only to get a draw................ or can it?????

Re: Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins II heading to Montreal
I'm a Hopkins fan so I'm a little biased but I have to ask why everyone thinks Pascal has the gas tank to tire out Hopkins? It has been shown in the first fight as well as in other fights like the Froch fight that Pascal cannot go 12 rounds. As long as BHop continues to defy age, he has the bigger gas tank. Now when does age catch up to him, no one knows.
I got my boy Bhop in this one. He now knows Pascal's power and won't get caught and KD'ed like in the first fight. Without those KD's, BHop would've smoked him the first fight. I had him winning one of the rounds he touched the canvas in until the KD. BHop will stalk him once Pascal tires out in the 5th and will win 8-4 or 9-3

would Hopkins have let a fighter with no gas in the tank off the hook 3 years ago like he did Pascal when they fought to a draw? that's a telling sign for me, compare Hopkins performance against Pavlik compared to the Hopkins fight against Pascal. everything about B-Hop is different. considering Pascal has no stamina, he's done well to last the distance in all his championship bouts without tasting the canvas. i think that slowly time is catching up with Hopkins, in fact i think Hopkins was so great that Pascal wouldn't have made it to 10 rounds with Hopkins 3 years ago and he definitely wouldn't have got close to making Hopkins go down. in the first fight Hopkins had to rely on his fighting instinct rather than his skills to pull out the draw, for an old man that is never a good sign. but put it this way, i won't be betting against Bernard Hopkins to win

If BHOP doesn't get dropped early in the rematch he wins the fight. He was able to time Pascal and he also seemed to know when most of the Pascal bursts were coming. Pascal tired after 4 rounds which is sad considering he is so much younger than BHOP.

Pascal should win. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't because there are a lot of holes in BHop's game these days. I expect Bhop to press early, then switch to a clinch and butt strategy.
