I had a huge argument about the validity of this with a guy from the promotion on my FB. He kept saying it was for the "Interim" title, to which I replied that term implies a vacancy, yet Shimodo is the WBA World Champion. His answer, interim means "eliminator" fight. What bullshit!!! They have 18 fights between them...no title needed for this fight.

If they just ignored them like ESPN does, less fighters and promoters would be going after trinkets. Promoters only use them for promotions, and if they not being recognized by major networks covering boxing, they'll ignore them too.

Promoters only use ABC belts when it benifts them and their fighters.
