Chavez Jr calls out Oscar De La Hoya
Culiacan, Sin. The undefeated Mexican boxer, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., said he was surprised by the comments made by Oscar De La Hoya on his personal twitter, where he voiced his criticism about Julio's last fight against Billy Lyell from last Saturday.
Chavez Jr. (42-0-1, 30 KOs) picked up a unanimous decision win over Lyell before ten thousand people in a packed stadium in Culiacán Sinaloa, and he scored a record audience at Fox Sports in America and TV Azteca with millions of viewers following their battle.
De la Hoya wrote on his personal twitter that saw the fight Chavez Jr. and believes Julio has nothing, no power in his fists and wished him the best.
"I'm surprised that De La Hoya could see two fights at the same time, mine and the Bradley-Alexander, but I am grateful to have contributed to that. I've broken the record audience number on Fox Sports for those who tuned in to see my fight," said Julio Cesar Chavez from his home in Culiacan, Sinaloa.
Chávez, the son of the best Mexican fighter of all-time, said that he recalled that when De La Hoya was developed his boxing career, neither he nor his father criticized him when unknown rivals such as "Chicho" Valenzuela sent him to the canvas.
"Nor did we criticize the knockout to [Bernard] Hopkins, who after the fight became a partner in his company, let alone when he sat on his stool against Manny Pacquiao," Chavez recalled
And then Chavez launched a challenge.
"I call on Oscar De La Hoya to pick up the gloves and lets fight at middleweight in September. And to give De La Hoya more motivation - I bet my purse that I'm going to send him to his final retreat from boxing. And then I'll wish him well in his career as a promoter," concluded the official challenger for the WBC world title at middleweight.

oscar would definitely win it. if you are giving him until september, he will be in good enough shape to KO chavez jr. and does chavez think that he is sounding tough by calling out oscar? it actually makes him sound like an idiot. CALL OUT SOMEBODY WHO IS ACTUALLY PRESENTLY FIGHTING!

You know, now that I think about it. Oscar should totaly take the offer.
One, it'd definitly make a lot of money
Two, Oscar can end his career on a good note, instead quitting on his stool.
Three, he'd be beating Arum's boy, and another Chavez

so true, Oscar has little left, but if the fight were at 154 he could beat Chavez Jr. It would be sweet.

if the fight is at 160lb then Oscar is the favourtie in my opinion. even in his old age his ring generalship would completely destroy Chavez Jr. Chavez Jr can't even beat up smaller, limited fighters. 160lb is a good weight for Oscar to fight at now, especially considering Chavez Jr couldn't crack an egg. It's not like Oscar is the only person that's been speaking their mind about Chavez Jr's future in boxing. Chavez Jr knows this is a massive chance to cash in though against somebody that he is viewing as a faded champion. shows us exactly what Chavez Jr is about. the guy is a joke, his career is a joke. why Mexican give him so much support is beyond me
