David Lemieux vs Marco Antonio Rubio could appear on FNF

Montreal middleweight David Lemieux (25-0, 24 KOs), at 22 one of boxing's fast-rising young stars, is moving toward a title eliminator against Marco Antonio Rubio (49-5-1, 42 KOs), a former title challenger from Mexico. Yvon Michel, Lemieux's promoter, said he will continue negotiating the fight with the Rubio camp but is prepared for a purse bid in Mexico on Friday. If they reach a last-minute deal, or if Michel wins the purse bid, the fight will take place April 8 in Montreal with ESPN2 televising on "Friday Night Fights." The winner of the bout moves a step closer to becoming the mandatory challenger for titlist Sebastian Zbik.

that is a perfect fight for Lemieux. stepping up the competition level.

He can't face guys like donny McCrary, Jason Naugler, Walid Smichet, Elvin Ayala, and Hector Camacho Jr. forever. Those are the guys you beat to get you ready for top 15 fighters. Rubio was briefly ranked in the top 10 by ring before Pavlik beat him. He is still a fringe contender (11-20 guy).

He'll provide a better test than the previous opponents but Lemieux should take him out.

Then he can step up and look for a top 10 guy to take out. He has a bright future if he keeps busting his ass, fighting often, and working on his craft.
