Heard a rumor that Cyclops wants to work with Maidana

No link, completely unsubstantiated lol. Could Cyclops help Maidana, or would trying to teach Maidana some craft be time wasted? Cyclops was in Mathysse's corner when he almost beat Zab. Mathysse is pretty much a Maidana clone, complete with homemade ink, and Cyclops was able to get him to be just a little more measured in his approach.

Miguel Diaz said in an interview that he does very little with Maidana in terms of technique. He even said something along the lines of "Maidana has little to no skill, so we don't even focus on that. Instead, we focus on conditioning, conditioning, conditioning."

You think Maidana could learn some finer points of boxing or would he just be uncoachable in that area?

Musical trainers is not a good idea. I think Oscar would been better fighter had just stuck with one trainer.

But in this case, I don't see how it could hurt.

you dont make a fighter into something he is not.ray leanord tried that for example with a good promising LH years ago named andrew maynard.the result was a disaster..maidanas trainer made a ignorant statement..you work with your fighters style..1.maidana needs to learn how to duck and slip punches while moving foward instead of having his face becoming a catchers mit..2.he needs improvement on how to effectively cut the ring off instead of playing follow the leader.3.work on him returning blows fast as he slips punches..thoses are 3 areas in which this trainer should consintrate on or else his fighters career will be short lived as a top tier fighter in that divison.
all thoses can be developed and improved greatly and not change his fighters style or makeup.films of marciano dempsey basilio will be of great help in communicating to his fighter how this makes him more effective and dangerous..his statement on conditioning is a joke.conditioning should be a given for any trainer...i would advise usualy against a change in trainers but in maidanas case or paviks i would say doo it..

you dump any trainer who implies his fighter has NO skill..

In my opinion Maidana has made some serious improvements in every fight I've seen him in. I even think he came into the Khan fight with the right gameplan. Khan just took more steam out of him in the 1st half of the fight than he could overcome.

I don't think any trainer could keep Maidana from getting hit repeatedly and outboxed by Khan.

He easily could. Look at the difference he made with Lucas Matthysse who was almost KO'd by Vivian Harris

While he's at it he should go after Arreola too and put him on Sergio's diet and make him a star too. Cyclops for President.

Maidana needs to hook up with Cyclops pronto !!! Miguel Diaz spent the majorty of the Khan fight whining to Cortez instead of giving Maidana instructions, and during the build he made it pretty clear they had no gameplan for Khan other than hope to clip him.

If I can join in and maybe take this too far, ODLH is Magneto for being a rival promoter of Xavier that occasionally will do his fighting for himself (I think ODLH could come back). Sabertooth has to rival Maidana somehow. I could see Urango filling that spot nicely. I don't have one for Pyro. Sinister is obsessed with Cyclops. I will go with Paul Williams being that he felt Cyclops's rage/predictive powers. Apocalypse I consider to be the ultimate evil which has to be PBF or Haymon. I will go with Vitali being Juggernaut the way he ran over Beast.
