Lucian Bute, Steve Molitor March double header will be on Showtime

BoxingScene.com was advised that Showtime televised doubleheader is being discussed for the month of March at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The two dates being kicked around for the doubleheader are March 12 and March 19. In the main event, IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (27-0, 22KOs) will make the seventh defense of his title. The opponent has not been finalized. In the co-feature, IBF super bantamweight champion Steve Molitor (33-1, 12KOs) will defend his title in a trilogy meeting with mandtaory challenger Takalani Ndlovu (31-6). Molitor stopped Ndlovu in 2007 and won a twelve round decision in their March rematch.

Steiglitz? Pavlik? What opponents could possibly be in contention for this fight? I guess it's just a keep busy.

Steiglitz turned down a July fight with Bute so I doubt he'll be interested. Pavlik is in rehab.

It'll be someone like Jean Paul Mendy.

They need to find a decent opponent for Bute....perhaps Andre Dirsgrace?

Bute and Molitor - that's a big card for us Canucks!

Really hope they come up with someone decent for the Bute fight though, can't think of who off the top of my head.

I like the idea of Mendy. Granted Bika was handling him, but he technically earned a title shot.

They'll probably dig up Eric Lucas again which would really suck.

Showtime showed alot of foresight to do the super 6 and be in the super middle weight business in general. It may be the deepest division in boxing and should produce compelling matchups for years to come.

The disgrace of boxing doesnt deserve a cent from any major network, but this is the best fight available for them and us. I dont think y'all know how much I'd pay to see Pussrrell get knocked out. Seeing Williams get knocked out made my month. Now its time for Pacquaio, Floyd, Haye, Pussrrell, and Berto to get knocked out cold. Bute could certainly do it to him, im sure of it.

I'd rather see Allan Green get a shot than Dirrell.
