Alphabet soup idiocy

It is very frustrating for boxing fans when obvious match ups are not made because of politics.  Perfect example:  Provodnikov is looking for an opponent for a June date.  HBO is not thrilled with the names that Banner and Top Rank have proposed.  Brandon Rios is also looking for a meaningful fight for June.

 Both Rios and Provodnikov are HBO fighters. Arum has an option to co promote Provo's next fight.  There are no barriers to making this fight.  Provodnikov/Rios has WAR written all over it and is on most hardcore fans most wanted list.

But wait, Provodnikov wants to defend his meaningless WBO trinket at 140.  Rios has trouble making that weight and the promoters don't want to gamble on issues at the scale.  So now Provo is considering two much less interesting opponents instead.

 This is idiocy.  Provodnikov said after the Bradley fight that making 140 was a struggle and he felt much stronger at 147.  Rios wants the fight, and claims he will make either weight.

 Do what is right for the sport and MAKE THE FIGHT.  Ignore the alphabet trinket and make the big fight at 147.  It has the makings of a classic and will be good for both fighters win or lose.

UGH this shit is getting worse every year. Why don't they just give up their belts. They don't mean shit.
