Boxing's Turkeys of the Year
The obviouse one would be Mayweather. But that's been well covered.
I say Kelly Pavlik wins THE TURKEY. What a bomb he turned out to be
Congrats Kelly

Pretty hard to argue with Kelly Pavlik.
"Divin' and cryin" Kermit Cintron deserves at least a mention.
How about a mention for James "I'm blowin' it son I'm blowin' it" Kirkland?

Re: Boxing's Turkeys of the Year
Wouldn't you say by diving out of the ring, Kermit showed some athleticism, cleverness and originality? Not everyone could come up with an ingenious plan to avoid getting KTFO by Williams, and the ability and/or style to carry it off.
Might I suggest that rather then the "Turkey of the year" award, Cintron be given the "Flying Duck" award?

I do like the dive from the ring, but I am in the minority as I think it was a legit fall. As for being KTFO, he was landing the harder shots in my opinion. In that 4th round he landed a decent left hook and a good right hand. PW felt the right hand.

I agree. I think PW might have been the lucky one. Esp after seeing what happened to him last week.captainanddew wrote:Ring wrote:Wouldn't you say by diving out of the ring, Kermit showed some athleticism, cleverness and originality? I just like the jokes about Cintron, but I actually admire the guy a bit, he got asolutely destroyed by Margo, twice no less, but came back from it and has himself back in the mix, that took some courage. I believe we should adopt Cintron as one of our favorite fighters here at the Boxing Palace, become Kermit nuthuggers as it were. What do you think?

Cintron is the anti-Flod
Flod: Avoids the most dangerous fighters, but when he does fight good competition he steps up and performs well.
Cintron: Fights very tough competition but pulls fails to come through or does some crazy shit every time (not counting the Angulo fight).

Cintron is entertaining, usually for all the wrong reasons, maybe it sounds crazy, but i'd like to see him have some success.

Joshua Clottey's "performance" against Pacquiao deserves mention.

I still feel people are being a bit harsh on Clottey, I mean look at Margarito and Cotto's faces after their fights with Manny, Clottey has never been an aggressive fighter.
