Bum Jr vs Andy Lee being discussed

With HBO losing the Victor Ortiz-Andre Berto rematch to Showtime, it looks HBO will aim to kick off its new season with a possible Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight in late January or February. One possible opponent for Chavez is Andy Lee, according to Lou DiBella, Lee's promoter. DiBella told me that Top Rank's Bob Arum, Chavez's promoter, has called him about possibly making that fight. DiBella said he and Arum are planning to meet in New York next week when Arum is in town promoting Cotto-Margarito II. As for my thoughts on Chavez-Lee? Thumbs up. I like that fight.

This fight should have been made the day after Chavez Manfredo. My thoughts are that Chavez Jr avoids the fight. If that fight doesn't pan out Lee should fight Quillin.

i dont think much of lee but i dont think much of chavez either. i think that lee has enough power to beat chavez though.

Im guessing Arum and Lou are going to make a deal about the whole Chavez-Martinez fight with the Chavez-Lee fight. I think its obvious Lou wants Chavez vs Martinez, so if hes willing to wait for it. Chavez wants to keep his belt also. Im thinking Arum is going to make Chavez vs Cotto-Margarito winner in the summer and fight Sergio after that. It would make a lot of sense. However Lee is a live dog against Chavez.

Lee is a step up from the ultimate Bum, Peter Manfredo, but Lee's still a handpicked guy for JCC Jr. Like I've said before: Wake me up when Jr actually fights somebody worth a damn....

Lee will be the hardest puncher Bum Jr has ever faced. I just don't see how Arum and The Roach agree to this. Not with Bum Jr's defense being made up of stopping punches with his face.

again, i dont really think that lee is that good, but if Jr can win without many problems then i will gain a lot more respect for him. i just dont see it happening.

I know. But he's just like Zibik. He lacks the power, and Bum Jr will win the decision regardless.

Arum didn't pick Lee because was a Southpaw, but because he could knock Bum Jr the fuck out.
