Prescott vs. McCloskey

Anyone watch it ?

Gotta say I was not impressed by McCloskey at all, was a very sloppy performance. He only won because Prescott gassed in the second half.

Prescott actually looked pretty good tonight, his jab was landing well and his right hand was looking sharp. He just faded badly. Prescott also let McCloskey off the hook in the 6th round when he had Paul hurt badly.

I had it 6-6 with the knockdown in the first winning it for Prescott, no way was it a clear cut UD for McCloskey, bit of cooking with those scores.

so no Khan rematch?

how did McCloskey win?

I watched rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, (missed 5), and 6.

It looked to me like this:
Round 1- 10-9 Prescott-pretty clear
Round 2-10-9 Prescott-pretty clear
Round 3-10-9 McCloskey-but I was rooting for him; close round
Round 4-10-9 McCloskey-pretty clear
Round 5-missed but from sound of announcers Prescott won it with the jab, so I give it to Prescott
Round 6-10-9 Prescott

I likely would have had it 4-2 Prescott and him up by 3 pts after 6 rounds. For him to lose he really would have had to gas out or it was complete home cooking.

Prescott must have been robbed if Ali barely had Prescott winning.

I don't always agree with his scorecards but Fat Dan said he had it 6-1 Prescott and a KD in his favor after 7 rounds.

I thought McCloskey could duplicate what Mitchell did and outbox Prescott(very wrong about that). I also figured that home cooking very well could be in play(seem to have been right about that).

It wasn't a flat out robbery, Prescott's exhaustion in the second half allowed McCloskey to make it close.

Fun fight though, those Irish sure know how to make an electric atmosphere.

close fight but i thought mccloskey eked out the decision.prescott pisses me,he has 5 times the talent of mccloskey but doesn't push himself,whereas mccloskey dug deep.desire won that fight.
