138 is about the weight I'd advise Marquez for the Pac fight. Weigh in 138, rehydrate to 145 or 146 (same as his lightweight fights). Pac will only be a couple pounds bigger in the ring.

He looked in great shape vs Katsidis and he was at 133. Hes a small Lightweight, he has nothing to do at Jr Welter or Welter, unless Big Money is involved, which is why hes fighting Pacquaio. Marquez deserves to be paid, but Pacquaio needs to challenege himself sometime. Its been years since I thought Pacquaio was actually facing a challenge.

Pac weighs less than Brandon Rios when Rios walks into the ring.
Pac weighs less than the biggest lightweights and most of the junior welters when he walks into the ring.

Marquez vs Katsidis 145 pounds.
Pac's latest fights 147-148 pounds.
Pac just doesn't dehydrate much before the weigh in. Pac didn't get bigger. He just stopped dehydrating.
Pac isn't weighing anything close to what a normal welter weighs when they fight. Not even close.
Pac could make 140 by not eating or drinking anything the day of the weigh in.
If Pac were to dehydrate like a normal fighter I think he could still make 135.

The weight has not a damn thing to do with it.

Pac should win easily this time around because of the gap in age and the fact that marquez is probably 95% of what he was before while Pac has improved since their second fight.

It's not the weight so much as the difference in power and strength. As Pacquiao has moved up all of his physical tools have translated to the higher weights. He is one of the physically strongest welters in the sport. Marquez isn't close to that.
