Antonio Rodrigo 'Big Nog' Nogueira on Dana White: 'He's Not a God'

UFC President Dana White didn't wait very long to voice his opinion that Wanderlei Silva shouldn't fight again after Silva's KO loss to Chris Leben at UFC 132. That didn't sit very well with another Brazilian legend who's on the downward slope of his own career, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Nogueira spoke to Brazil's R7 Esportes (translated by Tom Mendes):

"I think he was unfortunate with his comments. They're idols of the sport, (Dana's) not a God who decides on everyone's career.

I loved the fact that Tito Ortiz won his last fight. You see that these people were not champions for nothing. Ortiz, Wanderlei and Fedor were top fighters for a reason. But Dana White can't decide that, he'll have to eat his words regarding Tito (laughs)"

Nogueira probably identifies with Silva, both fighters are all-time greats who are now in their mid-30s and have suffered a string of brutal KO losses. Nogueira was once known for his iron jaw, but has lost 2 of his last 3 via knock out.

They really need a Fighters Union in the UFC. It would protect fighters like Tito and Silva who want to keep fighting.

From what hear the dude is done. Lost 6 of his last 8. He's basically Roy Jones and Evander Holyfield right now. Dana is right on this one.

Not really. This was his first fight in 18 months coming of surgery. In his last fight he beat a top 10 MW in Michael Bisping.

You would know more than me but losing 6 of your last 8 isnt good. Isnt Bisping the Mayorga of MMA?

Nah he's a good fighter. He'll be a coach on the next season of TUF. He's more like the Anthony Mundine of MMA.

I think Dana is right on Wandi, he did nearly make Bisping take a nap in their match, but he's been slipping bad, and he's suffered some pretty bad KO's. Add that to all the shots he would eat in his IVC and PRIDE FC days and it's certainly taken it's toll.

Wandi is done, the Bisping fight flattered him because Michael hits as hard as Paulie Malignaggi.

He is still a top 15 MW. Just because he isn't top 5 doesn't mean he has to retire. Should Bisping retire also?
