Everybody here but me does. I think he's ranked third in the division, and nobody says he's a world beater. He's the third best in the division right now and I think that 's fair. So far he does have the best resume at light heavy but he's also the longest tenured fighter in the division. I happen to think that Cloud is hugely overrated.
No way Dawson should have lost to Pascal.

Dawson was overrated before he lost to Pascal. I don't think he's overrated now. In fact, I think he's been written off too much after a single loss.
Dawson got skills. I don't even want to say he lacks heart, he's shown he has heart. He just lacks passion in the ring. I've always wondered if it's stamina issues or mental.
But Dawson got a chance to redeam himself.
Think about this crazy scenerio. Dawson beats Hops, rematches Pascal, revenges his loss.
Then Johnson beats Froch, and Adamek beats Vitali? Two foes Dawson's got wins over.

I agree with Hardcore
I think he could easily be #1 but his Rocky Juarezness hurt him big vs Pascal

Wasn't just Floyd. HBO crew were swinging off his nuts like Tarzan of the apes. And of course the Dawson fanboys, who mysteriously dispeared after the Pascal fight.

Well its that dumb "next star" bs that all media/fans clamor for
One fight a guy is the GOAT the next he's C or D level
Just like the NBA right now got people comparing Bird w/Dirk, gtfo here with that shit!!

I think he is vastly overrated as well. The guy will get beat against BHOP, Cloud, and Pascal again.dbudge wrote:is it just me or does anybody else here think Dawson is hugely overrated???
Re: Hopkins-Dawson in Montreal?
Chad will beat Hopkins. Not sure if could beat Pascal in a rematch, but he'll beat Hopkins convincingly. Between this and the Pac v. JMM fight I can finally make two calls that I'm confident about.

It'd get a bigger crowd in Montriel, sadily. Hops and Dawson are not crowd drawers.

It probably would be better in some ways to have it in Atlantic City or another big U.S. east coast city for the sport overall, but reality is Montreal is the place right now. Selfishly I'm glad it's in Montreal, I really wanted to get to the fight last weekend, but couldn't, so this card I'm trying to get to for sure.

if dawson continues to fight so tentatively as he has of late then hopkins is going to school him. hopkins wanted no part of dawson for the last 3 years so hopkins must have seen something about dawson that makes him fancy the job now. it's not like dawson has become a high reward fight all of a sudden

Hopkins is the master of psychological warfare. That's the only shot I give him.

when has Dawson fought 12 full rounds??? Not against Tarver, Johnson, Pascal, or Dianconu. He gives away 2-3 rounds each fight. All BHOP has to do is nick a few more rounds and it is right there.
