after a tentative opening minute, Lemieux catches Rubio with a long right and gets him against the ropes. Rubio does the Abraham impression but did catch some clean shots there.

better second round for Rubio. Lemieux still more active, but Rubio picking off the shots better.

The fight is now at his pace and distance. Rubio using the jab and picking off Lemieux shots. Rubio using the shoulder to roll with shots also.

I still don't like the low lead hand of Rubio. That's asking for trouble against a big puncher.

Lemeiux snuck a good right around Rubio's guard. Rubio spends the majority of round 4 on the ropes. RUbio picks off the headshots but Lemieux got in at least 3 good body shots. I'd keep banging downstairs instead of loading up to the head.

Alot of people put Rubio down after Pavlik handled him. He isn't a great fighter but he knows how to fight, can punch, and he is not going to fold easily. Lemieux should break him down by the late rounds.

anyway, here's what the fight is like.

Rubio will have success in the round keeping Lemieux on the outside by jabbing. However, every couple minutes, Lemieux will sneak a heavy shot around the guard of Rubio, which moves RUbio immediately to the ropes, where RUbio has no shot at winning a round.

Lemieux is doing decent work to the body on the ropes tho

left by Lemieux send sweat flying, but wasn't a clean shot.

Rubio countered well in the sixth, once with a jab, once with a right hand. Lemieux was actualy deterred by that right hand. Another right hand by RUbio! Lemieux is stunned but not in big trouble. Great round for Rubio, first time he was able to dent Lemieux.

And the man who has talked about being capable of taking down Sergio and Bute loses to Rubio.

Lemieux's balance was deteriorating badly in the 7th, even before he got hurt. He was overextending missed shots and squaring up. Rubio was able to time the right hand.

The punch that caused the knockdown caught Lemieux right on the ear and his legs were gone right after.

what a great fight town Montreal is. if a were a prospect I'd def love to be there lol
