i can see that Numbers 1-3 are spot on but then after that it becomes a bit of a mystery to me how it's been worked out.
4. Mikkel Kessler (currently retired)
5. Andre Dirrell (pmt problems)
6. Sakio Bika (2 fight losing streak)
7. Robert Stieglitz (who?)
8. Librado Andrade (beaten who?? current 1-2 in last 3 outings)
9. Glen Johnson (should be higher)
10. Arthur Abraham (hard to find a case for Abraham to be anywhere else at this point in fairness although he should be ahead of 2/3 in front of him)

Anybody else got a problem with these?

Kessler isn't officially retired.

Stieglitz is the WBO trinket holder.

Bika's only legit loses are too Bute, Ward and Calzaghe, the Mendy loss was a DQ because Sakio hit him while he was down.

Andrade has beaten Eric Lucas, Vitali Tyspko, Robert Stieglitz and Yusaf Mack.

Rankings are subjective, so just because you disagree with them, doesn't mean they are crap. Tell me a ranking that everyone will completly agree on?

I love boxrec because you can easily find a guy's record. It is useless for ratings (unless you want to see if someone has fought a single opponent of note; when you look at a prospect and only 1 or 2 opponents have a winning record and that guy is currently 300 out of 700 in a division, you can deduct the prospect doesn't have a single decent win).

You can't really count either as a Super Middleweight fight, the Hopkins catchweight was over the limit and the Taylor rematch was a contractual catchweight.

I don't think there is that many guys outside the top 10 that i would favor over any of the guys in the top 10.

I have no problem with those rankings. Tell us who you would rate instead. The ring rankings are the only legit rankings we have.

BTW- how can you not rate Bika in the top 10? He lost to the two best supermiddleweights in the world. Are we now going to discourage top ranked fighters from fighting one another by dropping the loser out of ratings? Does the loser of Bradley/Alexander drop out of the top 5 at 140?

i'm not saying that at all Canvas, get off your sopa box. i just think that the order the guys have been put in is wrong. Bika shouldn't be that high, yeh he has fought good opposition but he always loses! Andrade hasn't really beaten anyone, his finest moment came in a controversial 12th round vs Bute. Kessler has been inactive since April with no view for a return soon and so the other guys should get his spot. Stieglitz shouldn't be higher than Johnson or Abraham IMO and Dirrell should be lower as he has also been inactive since March and ducked Ward no doubt about it
