I agree, I really wanted it to go to the land down under.

S.Korea/Japan had it in 2002, USA had it in 1994 and Qatar isn't really an experienced nation to handle this sort of event.

Australia done a great job with the Olympics and would have done a fantastic job with the world cup.

Fifa definitely accepted bribes to make that decision.

Yup, bribes are the way stuff gets done in both Russia and Quatar, sad to say. Sucks for England and Australia

I must admit the stadiums do look impressive, but these were just computer versions.

What the hell is Quatar going to do with all those stadiums after the WC? Not like they have a booming domestic league or anything. Those things will sit empty for years.

They will give them to 3rd world countries. The World Cup will have no impact there long term. Would've done a heap of good in Australia.
