Canelo won't fight until May and wants Flod, Sergio, or Cotto only

So there it is Canelo put it out there that he wants the Cinco de Mayo date against the biggest names at 154. This should kill all of the rumors about who he is fighting next.

He'll fight Maidana in Floyd's undercard. Canelo has always been all just talk.

alvarez and company left a lot of wiggle room saying or any other 154 pound champ.that means bundrage or the great wbo chump..if he wants martinez lets do 160.after all fight night he will outweigh martinez by 3 or so pounds.trout is in the picture also if he beats cotto..lets face it the mega money fight is floyd.both bring to the table tons of fans..i can see that fight doing 1.7 1.8 million ppvs no doubt.
the danger of course is pac facing the winner of the rios fight for the same date for spite payback even if it means economic harry karry...ive always said alvarez indeed will fight anyone.its golden boy or his management that say otherwise and in the past advised alvarez to listen to them..ive also said in the past a floyd fight with alvarez is in the cards.
pac extended his contract one more year with arum and it was said the deal was done in 10 minutes according to pacs management team.that means 2 things to me.1. this is pacs last year in the ring.or 2 which i dont think will happen is pac becomes a free agent and fights floyd mid 2014..by them that fight is not desireable to me.
forget a pac -floyd fight in may folks aint gonna happen for sure.floyd -alvarez is a jackpot.hell it could do 2 million buys.if i had to make a bet and i wont but thats the fight i see happening.

I will say K9 is no cake walk if he does fight him. It will be a step up.

i hope so but he should definitely get a fight in before that and probably a step up in competition.

I don't understand why Canelo gets such harsh criticism. He has been fighting a decent level of comp for a kid. He is still 23. I think Canelo will prove to be the real deal

Canelo is Boxer #432 to call out either Floyd or Cotto. No way Golden Boy puts him in with Sergio.

He opened that can of worms when he won his trinket. Add on that he's been fighting as a pro since 15.

I think its because we all think he is ready. I dont criticize him but that seems to be the biggest reason.

It doesn't matter if we think he's ready or not...he's a Champion, and he's been fighting HORRIBLE opposition.

Seriously...he is a Champ that has been fighting like some guy that should be on ShoBox, or BAD at the most. It's sickening. If you want to bring him along that slowy, just say that and take his belt away...

we just dont want people being shoved down our throats unless they are actually going to fight top competition. the promoters create a sense of stardom for these kids and then dont ever put them in against top fighters.

But in today's game thats how you build a fighter. These guys dont fight enough to make a name that way so its the promoters job to do it. Thats what dana white at the UFC doesnt understand.

See thats your problem right there. You're acting like him having a belt actually means something. I had forgotten he even had a belt until you mentioned it there because I just ignore them most of the time. I don't consider Canelo the champion of anything.

Canelo's people are making the classic mistake of waiting for a mega fight with MW or Pac. They expressed in interest in Pac long ago and it's proven to be an unrealistic option. MW is even more of a pipe dream. Cotto? I think he beats Cotto but it's a fight that I find a hard time believing will take place.

Bottom line is he wants a name that he may never get. He should fight the best competition offered to him and try to make himself as big as the men he chases. I'd like to see him fight Martinez however I've heard no report on that fight materializing in any way.

Canelo should just say the hell with it, fight the best JR. Middleweights and attach some value to the trinket he's wearing.

Seriously, it just doesn't register with me anymore. Plus I hardly ever watch fights live now. I usually just download them the next day and skip the introductions where they list how many worthless belts each guy has. I just don't pay them any attention.
