Former WBA super welterweight champion has returned to Puerto Rico after his brave performance against Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night. Cotto declined interviews after the fight and also didn’t speak to reporters upon his return to Puerto Rico. He did, however, express his feeling on the fight via Twitter. “I feel great,” he tweeted. “Just resting in my SkyLoft with my family. Nothing to be down about. I respect the judges dec. but I completely disagree.”

Meanwhile, Cotto’s legal advisor Gabriel Peñagarícano confirmed to El Nuevo Dia that Cotto thinks he won the fight and his silence was a kind of protest against the decision rendered by the judges. “He made a great fight. It was a close fight that I think that he won and there is a discomfort and disagreement with the decision of the judges, but it must be respected. The decision did not reflect what happened there. The whole world saw it and the boxing world is talking about and knows what happened there….the way that the judges saw the fight is an insult to the reality of what happened there.”

that cottos legal advisers comments are laughable.the whole world saw it and the boxing world is talking about what happened..im not sure about the whole world but the boxing world is talking about what happened.what happened they said was a good hard fight in which floyd clearly won.no one in numbers even in small numbers have said otherwise.cotto thinks he won.so what else is new.fighters that lose a fight many times feel they won.

Mayweather destroyed doubt in that 12th round. I had it 8-4 Mayweather, but some of those rounds Mayweather won were close and he was busted up. Cotto however did not win that fight at all. He tried to display the same gameplan Castillo did on Floyd 10 years ago, but couldn't execute it the same way because he was no where nearly as skilled as Castillo was.

a bloody nose and a small cut on the lip and folks say floyd was busted up.thats laughable that they report that..busted up was margo after the cotto fight or cotto after the first margo fight.or basilio who fought for 6 rounds with one eye completly closed and the other eye half closed the last two rounds against robinson lossing a split descion.robby went to the hospital after the fight.thats two fighters that took a beating and were busted up..now i laugh when reporters said floyd took a beating.can he recoup and fight this year..fucking morons.

Margarito Battered Cotto. Pacquaio Battered Cotto. Mayweather battered Gatti. Cotto busted up Mayweathers face. I think the terms are being used correctly.

To Cotto's credit, that was probably the most "busted up" Floyd's face has ever been tho. He did have some big swelling around his right eye.

Yeah I think you guys are right. Floyd got the name Pretty Boy in the amateurs because he would never get touched so being busted up a little in this fight looks way worse on Floyd than say Gatti or Katsidis. If one of those 2 looked like Floyd did at the end, we would say they were unmarked Laughing

I watched the fight in a theatre. I wasn't scoring it round by round. I feel like 3-4 rounds for Cotto is the right score.
