did you guys see the fight.how did he do..
if by jacobs you mean daniel jacobs that lost to Pirog a while back. He hasn't been fighting for a while because he had cancer of some type. I don't recall the details.
Paulie has accomplished alot when you consider that he doesn't have power, is short and most guys he fight have a much better reach, and is prone to hurting his hands.

Re: Senchenko vs Paulie M.
Paulie will get paid but they could at least let the kid have on easy defense instead of throwing him to the wolves.
Dan Rafael
Even before @PaulMalignaggi won, Richard Schaefer had said if he did maybe a fight on 8/18 on @SHOsports against @DAlexandereal #boxing
Dan Rafael
Richard Schaefer just told me there is zero chance Paulie goes to UK to fight Brook on his July 7 date. Not happening. #boxing

I'm going on record. Paulie won't take the fight. He has the big homecoming fight in October in Brooklyn. He wants that bad and getting beaten by Alexander during the summer is not a great idea if he wants that fight in Brooklyn in October.

Malignaggi will be on that October card regardless if he beats Alexander or not.

Lets use a little common sense.
Facts:
1-Paulie M is 31
2-Proposed Alexander fight has been discussed for 8/18.
3-Barclays center has been rumored to want to hold a fight on 10/20
4-Last time Paulie M. fought and then fought 60 days later, was ................ 2004!!!!!
He is going to make a decision. Fight Alexander in the summer or fight at Barclays in October.
He isn't going to fucking do both.

the possibility I would like him to ask for is for Alexander to get his ass out of St. Louis and come to Brooklyn in October.

Re: Senchenko vs Paulie M.
The whole reason Golden Boy signed Paulie was to use him in the Barclays Center.

I know, but I can't ignore simple facts.
Paulie turned pro in 2001. He did fight often in the early part of his career (first 3 yrs which is pretty normal).
2004-2012-he has fought within 60-65 days multiple times, ONCE!!! 2004!!!!
That is why I find the fact that Fat Dan is going on twitter banging the drum for an August fight against Alexander just mind boggling.
And Paulie having 3 fights in less than 180 days? April 27th-October 20th. Not since 2003!!!!

Perhaps Golden Boy have rejuvenated Paulie's activity rate.

Paulie has fought 13 times 2007-1st half of 2012. 13 fights in 5.5 yrs. He doesn't fight much.

he's been with Golden Boy. Last few fights have been 6 months apart, which would point to October!!!!
Of course Golden Boy is going to tweet and answer sites like boxingscene about Paulie. He just had a good win. Any promoter that doesn't keep his name out there is shitty!!!!

Re: Senchenko vs Paulie M.
Alexander vs. Paulie does make alot of sense though, I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen next.
And yeah I get Paulie's activity rate but with the prospect of a new venue opening in New York I am sure Paulie would be up for it, if he's healthy.

that is why I think he asks Alexander to come to Brooklyn. Showtime or Hbo would buy it. New place. Brooklyn stepping into the limelight. Good fight.

from a boxingscene article.
Paulie speaking
"The fight (against Alexander) didn't get made in December. Devon looked great (versus Maidana) but at the end of the day I am in a position where I am a world champion and right now I am looking to take a vacation. It's summer. I'm not looking to pick my fight yet. Barclays isn't until the fall. Not to pat myself on the back I consider myself an entrepeneur who knows how to box. I have a lot of stuff going on. When the time comes I will sit down and pick my opponent," Malignaggi revealed.
Don't ignore fighter's past histories. Guys that fight twice a year are not going to turn around and try to fight 3 times in 6 months. Paulie said that basically he isn't fighting until the barclays center opens in October. Which is what I argued.

Ali wrote:I stand corrected good sir.
your points were very rational and logical. Why couldn't a fighter fight in April then July and then October. But not today's fighters. Ask them to fight more than twice a year and they look at everyone like they are crazy.
