IS IT TIME FOR AMERICAN FIGHTERS TO FIGHT ABROAD.
lets forget nationalism for a second ok.in the first 5 divisions from heavyweight to middleweight theres only 5 ranked guys out of 50 in the top ten of each division according to ring magazine.yes martinez chavez and adamek fight usa sites and are from elsewhere but adamek for instance could make the same money or more fighting abroad without the bullshit usa tv dates.
the hotspots in the uk and germany and sites close to germany draw big crowds with entusisatic fans and good tv money and ratings.this spells opportunity for our fighters on the rise or established or a name slightly past there peak to go overseas and fight.its about time they did that instead of worring to get a friday nite tv date a undercard fight on hbo etc etc and hoping it gets shown.
theres where the world class fighters are according to ring mag..also a wider variety of tv dates from the uk germany the ukraine etc etc.forget the cry thses guys must come here to fight.the action is there for sure.its time for our fighters to go overseas to fight if they want to increase there chances of being relivant.at least in the first 5 divisions as mentioned.if fighters want activity and money then go where there are several choices to make a fight.
i wish the european promoters make the first move in this.it could give boxing a shot in the arm...your a fighter.you want to fight.heres a chance.

I've thought it's been that way for a while. I think it would have to be promoters and networks who have to force the move though. Instead of overpaying for okay fighters, HBO should use their money to go abroad and show good fights.

depends on division.
American HWs should go overseas. That is where most of the best fighters are.
American cruisers have already gone overseas.
LH and 168-makes sense to stay in North America. Pascal in Canada, Dawson, BHOP, Cloud, Shumenov, and others campaign in US. plus with the 168 pounders who are really about the same size- Bute in Canada, Ward, Dirrell, etc...

It's been time for about 20 years but American fighters have no interest in doing it.
If Showtime and HBO suddenly pulled out of boxing and the paychecks disappeared perhaps their attitudes will change.

im not talking about just hbo or showtime fighters.there are plenty that dont fight there that are still good or capable fighters that can pick up good money as well as another fight or two each year.also if they are a hbo or so fighter why not.it eliminates the excuse im waiting for a tv date.one more good payday extra doent hurt does it.

1-guys would fight close to home and build fanbases. Guys like Alexander have already done so and we applaud that. It would force other fighters to do the same.
2- And if they couldn't do it here, they would have to go overseas to campaign.
3-guys would probably fight more often. More fights, more paychecks to make up for getting less money without network money.
