Jr arrested for drunk driving on Jan 22nd

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on the morning of Jan. 22 and charged with drunk driving, according to records obtained by RingTV.com and a spokesman at the holding facility.

Chavez, 25, was arrested in Los Angeles at 4:38 a.m., booked at 7:19 a.m. at the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Men's Central Jail, and released at 10:25 that morning, according to the operator at station No. 4 of the Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center.

Chavez has a court hearing scheduled for March 16 in Los Angeles Municipal Court, according to the spokesman.

The fighter was listed by police at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds at the time of his arrest.

Chavez (44-0-1, 31 knockouts ) defends his WBC middleweight belt against Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1, 46 KOs) tonight in San Antonio on HBO. The son of Julio Cesar Chavez is rated No. 5 by THE RING.

Public relations director Lee Samuels of Top Rank Inc., Chavez's promoter, said he had no knowledge of the arrest.

13 days before the fight hes 15 pounds overweight and drunk at 4 am.great work ethic indeed.good job freddie in keeping tabs on your fighter..time for a ultimatum.straighten up or get a new trainer..teddy atlas would not put up with that.neither would cus damatto or stewart or many other top trainers.

Chavez Jr. is Officially Charged For Recent DUI Arrest

According to TMZ, WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been officially charged with three misdemeanors by the Los Angeles City Attorney - two charges for drunk driving and one for driving without a valid license. The charges are related to Chavez's January 22 arrest by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. He was arrested at 4:38am when his car was pulled over and the officer smelled a heavy odor of alcohol in the card. He booked at the Los Angeles County Jail at 7:19am and released with a citation at 10:25am. Chavez has to appear at Los Angeles Superior Court on March 16th.

Chavez is a dumb shit, but hopefully this doesnt affect him getting a visa. I still cant wait until he gets put in a corner to either vacate or fight Martinez.

No word has yet come down on how the WBC plans to discipline Chavez for endangering the lives of others and breaking the law and all that, because surely if Dereck Chisora can be banned forever and soon fined heavily for acting like a jerk, then the WBC definitely will take action here, right? Right? Right? Right? I mean, they definitely don't have to wait for a court to make a decision or anything like that, and surely these charges are worse than spitting water at someone, right? Right? Right?

Maybe this will all be too much for Don Jose, and he'll again "retire."
