at leightweight the fight would never happen.i'm betting pac's head is over the lightweight limit.not that it's big it just looks like something you could use to build a house with.

Age and form is the main thing to me. Pac is going to be a month shy of 33. Marquez is going to be 3 months past 38.

Wasn't that big a difference when they fought in March of 2008, but Marquez (while still good) has definitely looked easier to hit (and starting to look old) in the last few years.

As for the weight, it shouldn't make a difference, but then again why did Marquez look so damn horrible against Floyd. He looked slow!!!! He weighed in at 142 and weighed around 145 or so.

What doesn't make sense is he has been weighing 145 when he walks in the ring after weighing in at 135.

Somehow having to dehydrate and rehydrate to almost the same weight makes Marquez look and move quicker than just coming in at basically the same weight without dehydrating.

Makes absolutely no sense, but may be true.

For whatever reason Marquez should do his normal routine, try to come in at 135 for the weigh in, weigh his normal 145 in the ring and he'll look good.

+1 Pretty much meaningless at this point. JMM is seen as too old and done, Pac is better than he was the first two times. This one is going to do crap PPV numbers, especially with the UFC card for free on Fox the same night. Tried to justify this to some of my UFC fan friends last night and really found it a tough sell.

Maybe not doesnt the UFC end before the PPV starts? I hope so because I will watch both.

In this fight he doesnt have to. Besides cutting weight hurts the older fighter more anyways.

Pac isn't old and again Marquez was making the weight comfortably. He's only fighting at Welterweight because Pac demanded it.

Marquez looked flabby and slow when he fought Mayweather at Welterweight.

But why? That makes no sense. On the night of fights he always weighs around 145. That tells me he didnt train hard for that fight and it had nothing to do with the weight.

And Pac does? Let the guys weigh what they want for this one.

Even if weight were not a factor, compare the paths these two have taken since they last fought. Pac has pretty much demolished every opponent they put in front of him. Marquez?

-hard fought battle with Casamayor
-brutal fight with Diaz
-one sided beatdown from Joy
-Wins a lopsided decision against Diaz
-War with Katsidis
-fights a can

Had they fought in the fall of '08, at 135, this might be a different story, but I expect Pac to annihilate JMM (who will still bring it better than the guys Manny has fought since Cotto)

age is the biggest factor in this fight. i think that pac has gotten better but not by as much as everyone thinks. his only real tough fights were against JMM and morales. both are great fighters that will give anyone problems. he dominated barrera who is also a great fighter and dominated a few other fighters at lower weight classes. now he is dominating fighters that arent even close to the same level as JMM, morales, or barrera and people are saying that he is way better. i think that his competition has made him look better.

remember that since the draw in their first fight that JMM lost a controversial decision to chris john and a controversial decision to pac and then got beat by mayweather who would have easily beaten pac at that time too. JMM has been pretty dominate for some years now but he is just getting old which is why i said it is by far the biggest factor. it has nothing to do with weight because JMM would have always given pac problems.
