Disappointed to see this, I was hoping Canelo would follow up beating Rhodes with another top-10 opponent, not a victim in Gomez. I'll never forget when I went to Cotto-Gomez and he had been beaten into a bloody pulp. The doc and Larry Hazzard are calling it off and his dad is shouting "ONE MORE ROUND!" as his son's face is covered in blood and swollen shut.

Papa Gomez should have thrown in the towel waaaay earlier that night. The funniest memory I have of that fight were the tards on the ESPN board (mainly Flomos) swearing up and down that Gomez was going to dominate, possibly stop Cotto that night.

I like Gomez alright. He was much smaller than the other guys on Contender and lost to a P4P guy in Cotto. He shouldn't ever win a trinket but his name is recognizable and he will give effort. I'm still not sold on Canelo but know he has this one easily.

gomez was lucky that fight was stopped because the tide was turning and soto karass was going to lay him out.

the fight was being scored a draw. Soto karass was deducted two points for fouls. Gomez sucks, Canelo should be fighting better competition.

I dont think any of you guys really watched the fight. Gomez won it rather easily. But I agree he should be fighting better opposition than the Gomez's and Soto-Karass's of the world.
