I liked both because they finally showed Holmes' eccentric side. Holmes is always depicted as the Basil Rathbone version. But in the books, he was much more eccentric. Why people are surprised that "House" is loosly based off of Holmes.
Downey Jr is at his peak right now, he's been given two great characters in Holmes and Stark to just go totally OTT.

I watched Battle: Los Angeles tonight and it was actually pretty decent. I was shocked because I thought it was going to be a piece of shit.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it, the action scenes were gorgeous and exciting, even at 50 Tom Cruise still kicks ass. 4/5
Oh and that Paula Patton is something else.

Re: Movie discussion thread
Yea but such a small role in that film, Downey and Stiller crushed him in that.

Cruise based the character off of 90 year old Viacom-CBS media mogul Sumner Redstone who fired his ass from Paramount in 2006.
These days, Sumner Redstone, the 83-year-old chairman of Viacom and CBS, seems less like a billionaire media mogul and more like the Izzy Mandelbaum character Lloyd Bridges played on Seinfeld—a crusty, vain, ultrafit eightysomething guy continually jeering younger stars for being flabby girlie-men. "I work out every day," Redstone told the New York Times earlier this week. "Do you know any studs who work out 70 minutes a day?"

Drive Angry - The single silliest, OTT, ridiculous movie I have ever seen. It was so ludicrous Nic Cage had a gun fight while he fucked a broad lol. Even so I actually enjoyed it, one of those ones were it's so bad it's amusing. 3/5

Haywire - A fantastic, slick action movie. Carano's actually pretty good considering it was her acting debut. 4/5

I saw "The Devil's Double" and really liked it. Dominic Cooper was great at playing two roles with Uday Hussein and his double. Even if only half the stuff was true, that guy was a fucking maniac, even by dictator standards.
