Do people like the chat feature?
I logged in right when the fight ended so I didn't get a chance to use it much but it seemed cool. Thoughts?

It's OK Gumby, but from what i've seen so far, 'a score it' thread works just about as well.

Maybe one of the mods can ask a simple question in real time after each round: Who won the round? Who can translate what the corner is saying? Best punch of the round? etc. That could differentiate it a little from the threads where that gets a little bit harder to do in real time and with needed to refresh/move to new pages.

I like it. I think better way to discuss a fight going on

I like it during the round. I will always take 15 seconds in between rounds and type my score. But in the heat of the moment I'd rather be able to type he's hurt, he's hurt in the chat than have to post it and then hit the button as 3 other people typed the same time.

Live chat adds some excitment as well; but it can be a bit distracting (unless you're watching a David Haye fight and there's lots of time to type between punches). A "score it" thread may be just as good, but I like the instant reaction you get in a chat format.
Let's see how it goes tonight.

No, but for selfish reasons.
Lots of times I am tape delayed or have friends over and I like to reread the "Let's score it thread" and see what you guys thought later.
The chat doesn't allow for that.

That really isn't being selfish Marble.
I like the chat, because in 3 mins I can type something that I am thinking as I see it. The only time I do that during fights in the thread is when someone goes down. Usually 4-5 of us type the same sort of entry. Fighter A goes down.
I'm definitely still going to score the rounds and provide my thoughts in the thread in the time between the rounds.

I believe there's a way to save/archive chat sessions so that they can be found and read later.
The chatbox could use some improvements in appearance, and the disconnects were really annoying, disable them, there also seemed to be a lag at times.
Overall the chatbox is a good feature, I can see where it would work much better if the fight being discussed is on TV, and you're not having to fuck with a live internet stream.

Re: Do people like the chat feature?
I'm techno-dense. I hit the archives button and it goes back about three hours and that's it. Any way to go further back?
