Zab Judah vs Erik Morales ?

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com , Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events are far apart on the financial terms to make a junior welterweight unification between champions Amir Khan and Zab Judah. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told Kathy Duva, the CEO of Main Events, that Judah is not worth a 50-50 revenue split with Khan. And, Schaefer told Duva that Khan wants 100% of the revenue from UK pay-per-view.

"It's amazing. You know, Amir Khan was chasing Tim Bradley to the point where he was offering him more than 50 percent, and then 50 percent of the pay-per-view, and he doesn't think that Zab Judah is worth 50 percent? That's called pricing yourself out of the fight, which means that Amir Khan is afraid. HBO wants the fight. They would pay as much as they would for Bradley," Duva said to BoxingScene.

It gets interesting. Golden Boy is looking for a pay-per-view opponent for Erik Morales, who plans to return on July 30, which is seven days after Khan's scheduled return to HBO. Reportedly, Morales turned down the opportunity to fight Khan, but Golden Boy has approached Duva about matching Judah with the Mexican veteran. Duva has a theory in mind - that Golden Boy is possibly lowballing Judah with Khan, in order to push him in the direction of fighting Morales.

"Richard Schaefer has mentioned to me that they might want to do Judah with Morales in July, that might be one of the reasons that they're trying to lowball Judah on the Khan fight. I think he would rather do that. And while I think Judah beats Morales, I just think he gets so much further by beating Khan," Duva told BoxingScene.com's Bill Emes.
