Im glad you dont work in boxing
Glad you don't work for TV. You'd be fired. Unless you think getting the worse ratings for all major networks in ten years with Fight Camp is a success.

the nov date did not hurt pacs 2 ppv fights held in nov and both did over a million buys and only i think 18 fights ever did over a million buys..the date dont hurt the fight..worst ratings ever for a network show in ten years..nonsence..of course there not going to show fight camp during a game.theres no time but before a game why not.

Ali wrote:HBO or Showtime ?
I would be really shocked if CBS/Showtime let Manny go back to HBO
-Les Moonves, the president and CEO of CBS Corp
---Moonves looked at Arum and duBoef and, referring to the May 7 pay-per-view card, said, “We’ll make this work.” And then, in words that boxing fans in the U.S. have been dying to hear for more than two decades, he added, “I want you guys to figure out how to help me get boxing back [on network television] on Saturday night.”
---Joe Gagliardi, the president of J&J Sports Productions, which sells boxing to bars and restaurants around the country, said sales have been far stronger than he anticipated, which he attributes to an early start on the marketing campaign. Gagliardi said when bar owners and restaurant managers are asking him early about a fight, it’s because their customers are asking them about it.
“We’ve noticed that our sales have jumped up considerably, and earlier, than we’ve ever really had, even for a major fight,” Gagliardi said. “Generally, my sales are on the last two, three four days, even for a pay-per-view. But, judging by my early indications, I’m above where I thought I’d be at this time.”
He said he’s had a particularly great response from managers of chains such as Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters.
“They’re getting their locations taken care of early, and that has not happened before,” Gagliardi said. “The public has become aware of the fight earlier than normal, so what is happening is that their regular customers are asking if they’re going to show the fight. There is clearly a greater awareness of this fight than there has been for most fights, even some very big, very significant fights
-Mark Boccardi, the senior vice president of programming and business development for in Demand“With respect to Pacquiao-Mosley, there is certainly a heightened awareness about this event. A lot of that is driven by the CBS and Showtime involvement. To the operators, it feels big. It’s different. When you combine that with Pacquiao, who right now is the biggest draw in pay-per-view, and Mosley, who over the years has had such great credibility as a pay-per-view draw, and you put it all together, it just has the feel of something that could be a mega-event.”

Are you purposly being dense? CBS is not in the fucking PPV business. They are in the collecting money from advertisers business.
Getting barely a million viewers during Prime Time Network TV is terrible. Why the fuck would they air another one when could air re-run of CSI and get 10-11 million viewers.

You keep saying this but it doesn't make sense? Worst rating for what time slot? It goes by time slot. They didn't air this during prime time on a weekday correct? It's not to be compared to prime time drama. Did Top Rank foot the bill and cost for the production and production like many of the network MMA companies do? How much money did Showtime and CBS lose on putting this on? That's how a Television network measures success. For instance we (NBC) had the highest rated programs for 2010 in the Olympics, but it's still considered a failure because it didn't make any money because we bid so high on the rights. Same with football by the way, the Superbowl is pain in the ass and you have to charge so much for advertisement because of the rights. It's not a hand over fist money maker for the Networks. The networks want the Superbowl for of course some of the money it makes but also for the exposure and gravitas that it brings. Trust me any network would trade the Superbowl for a season of decent rated regular sports or an 8 season drama produced in house and sold out to syndication. 30 Rock just made the company 100 million dollars in syndication. That show is a comedy and has more or less a cult following, imagine what a huge hit goes for internationally? There are so many avenues to make money, one is PPV which boxing took wrestling's lead and started charging per view. This cuts out the advertising aspect, the ratings aspect and pain in the fucking ass know nothing idiots at the network. It sucks for us fans, but network TV drove them to do this more than anyone else. Network TV shot itself in the foot and is killing all sports, boxing was just the first to die, they were on the front line. Next was Hockey, then basketball, now baseball. If there were more football games the same would happen to them. The fact that there is only sixteen games makes that sport special and the fans walking a way wanting more, not needing less.

Needless to say, there was not much to say elsewhere. Last-place CBS opened with special Fight Camp 360: Pacquito vs. Mosley, which could be the Eye net’s worst performance in the Saturday 8 p.m. hour historically -- 1.19 million viewers (#4) and a 0.3/ 1 among adults 18-49 (#4).

8:00PM on Saturday is primetime. And CBS with Fight Camp got beat out by other major networks, horribly.
Seriously, stop being in denial

Where is your ten or eleven million? Seinfeld was a failure the first season and almost canceled. Saturday is not prime time. It didn't do well, you're right but they have to give some time. You remind me of the cancel quick executives that run television and give noting a chance to catch on. You're telling me this would have done better in September? What's your point?

I can assure you it is not!!! There is no prime time on the weekends!!! Other than news and sports it's all filler. Day side sports is prime time on the weekends. Golf, football, hockey, extreme sports etc. 8pm use to be recycled movie time, it is far from prime time.

Sorry if reality hurts some your feelings. Shit, Lights Out, a great show pulled in slightly better ratings on CABLE TV, and got axed. So have a lot shows I liked that pulled in better ratings.
And you're telling me the network suits aren't going to give a fuck about the ratings it produced?
