Gamboa Reportedly Arrested For Domestic Violence

The man with arguably the fastest hands in boxing has been arrested in Miami and accused of using his skills illegally outside the ring, Miami-Dade police said Thursday.

Yuriorkis Gamboa, 29, was taken to jail this morning and charged with domestic violence after he tried to stop his wife from leaving their Miami-Dade home, an arrest report stated.

According to police, cops got a call at 3:14 a.m. from Dunia Francisco, Gamboa's wife, who was crying.

Francisco was trying to leave the house because she felt Gamboa was cheating on her, she told police. The couple began to argue, when Francisco told Gamboa that she was taking their young son with her, police said.

That's when Gamboa allegedly grabbed his wife's arm and then the back of her neck to stop her, the arrest report stated. Police said she had several scratches and redness on her arms and neck from the incident.

Gamboa admitted to police he tried to stop his wife from taking their son, and he was arrested.

See, that's low-blow reporting. "Using his skills outside the ring." If I didn't read on, I'd have this image of Gamboa running combos on his old lady, which isn't exactly what happened.

It's never good when the police show up, though. You should be work thru domestic squabbles without the authorities needing to intervene.

I thought that too. Obviously, I don't condone any violence against women but it sounds like he grabbed her and there was a brief struggle ending in scratches. He didn't throw a punch.
