Mikkel Kessler vs Robert Stigelitz in June..
.. a deal is close to being reached apparently. So it looks like Kessler is going to go after Stieglitz's WBO 168lb title, what a fucking sell out prick. what a bitch move to pull, what the fuck is wrong with him facing Bute?? i hope Kessler makes a Bute fight his main priority when he is done with Stieglitz so they can unify the IBF and WBO titles ready for when the Super 6 winner, who will hold the WBA and WBC titles, is crowned so that we can actually have a full unification of the 4 titles and a legitimate undisputed lineal Champion. that's a fans mentality though and it will never happen. at least one of the organizations will strip the Champion and give their title away to some Mongolian camel-back rider

Kessler should have an easy time with him
I wondering if he's going the Felix Sturm route

well he is at the tail end of his career. maybe he is going to take the Sturm route, grap an alphabet strap and then wait for an undisputed Champ to be crowned and a potentially huge payday to retire on

Surprising since Stieglitz turned down Bute, unless Saurland have thrown more money than Interbox was willing.

How much is 3 million kroner
I actually don't mind this, Kessler is coming back to face a top ten guy and won't just be sitting around waiting for the tournament winner.

I like this. Eventually we'll get a unified champ at 168. If Kessler wins he's fighting a Super Six opponent or Bute. I personally think his injury was legit.

A half a million is plenty for a guy that quit the Super 6 with an "injury" and decides he can suddenly fight a guy like Steiglitz.Ali wrote:gomez1012 wrote:3 million Kroner = just under $551k US

No the 500k is for Stieglitz, it's just when I heard 3 million Kroner I expected at least $1 mill.
Stieglitz turned down the chance to unify with Bute last year so I am not sure 500k would be enough to lure him to Denmark, especially when he'd struggle to win a decision there.

I still think it's plenty for a guy that hasn't been on a world stage yet. What was Kessler offered?Ali wrote:flapanther2001 wrote:A half a million is plenty for a guy that quit the Super 6 with an "injury" and decides he can suddenly fight a guy like Steiglitz.Ali wrote:gomez1012 wrote:3 million Kroner = just under $551k US

I don't know but I am pretty sure he'll make double since it'll be in his hometown.

$551k is a phenomenal amount of money for somebody that is not a star

Bute wouldn't have been able to offer Stieglitz half a million dollars for a fight

Half million is a lot, but even a rebounding Kessler abuses him
He might continue the Felix Sturm tradition at SMW

1. Andre Dirrell
2. Arthur Abraham
3. Jean Paul Mendy
4. Renan St. Juste
5. James DeGale
6. Karoly Balzsay
7. Eduard Gutknecht
8. Medhi Bouadla
9. Stas Kashtanov
10. Francisco Sierra
11. Pablo O. Natalio Farias
12. Daniel Pawsey
13. Librado Andrade
14. Brian Magee
15. Alexander Brand
I'd expect one of the highlighted names (the WBO rankings). Pawsey being a perfect opponent for him.
