British board of boxing refuse to sanction Tyson Fury vs Francois Botha
British heavyweight Tyson Fury (13-0, 9KOs) will have to start looking for a new opponent. It was announced last week that Fury would face heavyweight veteran Francois Botha (47-5, 28KOs) on February 19 in Wembley Arena. The British Boxing Board of Control has refused to sanction the fight. They will not allow Botha, 42, to face Fury. Botha has not fought since last year's knockout loss to Evander Holyfield.
BBBoC Secretary Robert Smith said to The Sun: "I don't know why the fight was announced."

since Robert Smith has taken over as Chairman of the BBBoC there seem to have been a lot of positive changes being made to the sport in this country. and Smith is always brutally honest about his viewpoint towards Boxing. i like him, he's good

That's a good step up for Fury.

The BBBofC have finally started playing to the right tune, lets see what happens down the line though. Glad to see that we're using judges for domestic title fights and not just the referee, also glad to see the back of that stupid headbutt rule we kept using. Though lets wait until a big money fight with a questionable opponent comes along, lets see if they shoot that down, lets see if Robin Reid does get to enter the Prizefighter. They will show their true colours soon enough.

Botha should be checking ID's at a strip club.
