WBO order Nathan Cleverly vs Jurgen Braehmer

Nathan Cleverly will fight for the WBO light-heavyweight title next.

That's because the WBO have ordered that negotiations should begin between Cleverly's camp and that of German champion Jurgen Braehmer.

Braehmer was due to meet WBA champion Beibut Shumenov earlier this month, but missed the fight through illness.

That appeared to be a blow for Cleverly. It was feared he would have to wait until the outcome of a rearranged fight between Braehmer and Shumenov before getting his chance.

But now if Braehmer decides to fight the Kazak, he will be stripped, and Cleverly will challenge for the vacant title.

Braehmer's other option is to defend against Cleverly.

Warren tried to bring Braehmer to the UK in December to meet Cleverly in Liverpool.

And he will be confident he can tempt the 32-year-old to Britain, possibly in March.

..lol lol..dont give them any more ideas.they may like that one..to me i find it more then confusing to follow this stuff.its a weekly occurance and names of fighters pop out of nowhere that some of us myself included dont know who there are..its not hard to understand why a sports fan or a casual fan cant follow this..hell i think even boxing reporters have a very hard time attempting to do it.

It's not really, Once Braehmer pulled out of the Shumanov fight Frank would have asked for the WBO to order Braehmer to face his mandatory.

yeah, no pascal,no BHOP, no shumenov, no cloud, no Dianconu, no Murat, no Henry, no Campillo. A massive 2 guys ranked in ring's top 10. Ring really should have 1 more, as Glen Johnson should be moved out of the LH rankings.

4 guys from Mr. Twinkie's rankings at espn (as he has Dawson, Cleverly, Erdei, and Braehmer in the top 10).

One way or another there needs to be some sort of consolidation to get consistent rankings. This situation is exactly what hurts boxing.

Why you have to have a 3rd party does the rankings and is not a sanctioning body where promoters can "influence" or bribe their way to get their fighters in the rankings.

Why I say for now, let it be The Ring. But at this point, I don't care since some of you got a beef with that.

Just need universal rankings that networks and media recognize and ingnore the useless belts that are only hurting the sport.
