Floyd Mayweather Jr by himself earned $60 million. That means boxing's top star earned more than double of the whole UFC roster.

I think it was worth it to Dana from a credibility standpoint, and I see his point. The UFC grossly underpays its talent, but boxing does worse and overpays. The other thing I like about the UFC system is you can see that it's not just the top talent that gets the most $, but the guys who fight the most.

But MMA fighters are as in-active as boxers. GSP, Anderson Silva, Cain Velasquez, Jose Aldo, ect only fought twice last year. Fedor only fought once last year.

first this shows white eats alone..less then 300 fighters in the ufc.im not familar with there competion if any but is there one.if so there stable has to be smaller..make that 500 guys total in all divisions which is less then the boxing HW division...ive read boasts by mma fans that there ppvs are very very succesfull..ill assume they are right.
what do they charge for a ppv..is it 50 dollars..800 thousand buys in one makes 40 million.lets say 20 goes to ufc.thats for one ppv only..wheres the money going.many of there matches are also shown on cable tv.where is that money going..
they got to be the dumbest guys in sports to put up with this..i dont understand if the ufc is so popular far more popular then boxing as there fan base says then why doesnt 1.four or 5 of there top guys who should have a huge following as per there fans and they have known name recognition go see a top fight promoter and arrange a fight with a top boxer in the boxing ring under boxing rules.2.let that promoter do the ppv..showcase the fight in a well established ufc venue and make 2 or 3 million dollars for that one fight...assuming that top guy will earn 500thousand that year in the ufc then one fight could pay them 6 years or more of money...
they must be under a slave contract to be robbed like that..or maybe plan stupid. or both..

All the fighters have champions clauses in their contract so when their contract finishes it automatically renews as long as they hold a title in the UFC.

Floyd Mayweather Jr by himself earned $60 million. That means boxing's top star earned more than double of the whole UFC roster.

The UFC fighters need to do something about the pay.

There are 7 titles. Even if you retire when you come back your old contract is not null and void. They should strike or something though because the UFC are screwing them hard. Brock vs Carwin and Brock vs Cain both did over a million buys.

The majority of those fighters had injuries.

So what. None these guys fight more then 3 times a year. Tops. Silva hasn't fought thee times a year since 2008.

Point is, MMA fighters and boxers have a lot of in-activity.

I don't agree, the UFC does their best to keep fighters as active as possible. After Brock came back from that problem I won't even attempt to name he fought twice within the space of months. If Cain hadn't of delivered that beatdown that Dos Santos fight would already be scheduled.

Yes they're will always be a couple of fighters who take alot of time off between fights ( GSP for example) but generally alot of their fighters fight quite often.

On average, it's 2-3 fights a year. Go look it up.

That's why most these fighters have only fought 19-30 fights their entire career.

Couture has had 29 fights in 14 years. Liddell ending his career with 29 fights in 13 years.
Evans has had 16 fights in 8 years, ect, ect. That's career average of about 2 fights a year.

To be fair when alot of these fighters don't have a fight scheduled they're at different gyms trying to improve their technique. Remember MMA involves alot of different martial arts like jiu jitsu, boxing, wrestling, karate, judo, mauy thai etc.

And quite alot of these fighters also run their own gyms and train other fighters.

Boxers don't train? Come on, point is man, MMA guys fight less then typical boxer does.

Difference is though, when UFC fighter becomes a name, barring injurry, they still fight atleast 2-3 times a year. They don't pull a Mayweather or Oscar and only fight once a year. Except Fedor.

I never said all boxers don't train outside of fights, just pointing out MMA fighters need to learn alot of different martial art techniques between fights because their sport is so varied.

The difference is like what Ali said. In boxing once you've learnt how to box there isn't much more skill to learn but in MMA there are so many discipline's to learn that you need much more training. Also in MMA you get much more injuries as you are punched, kicked and wrestled.

You know what I mean. I meant that in MMA you have to learn BJJ, Wrestling, Boxing, Kick Boxing, Judo and other forms. In Boxing all you have to learn is Boxing and not worry about kicks or takedowns.

look the bottom line grant is correct.and then the excuses fly..they have to learn so much..like what..wressling.there excellent at it i agree.thats because most of them have had a career in that in colledge or elsewhere..they have to learn boxing..well when are they going to do that..everyone of them and the number of matches i watched here when my son lived with me cause he like it not one had basic skills in boxing..there skill level in punching combos footwork slipping punches feights counterpunching is below the level of fouth r tier fighters..karate.bullshit..where the karate moves that have been demistrated with experetiece.. bruce lee type of accurate karate kicks to the head..judo.where.i mean classic judo or jujitsu moves...
the legend lol lindell.koed what 5-6 times and with the first punch hes hit with..in almost every match i see the first decent punch landed they go either down or out..yeah they know how to slip punches or roll with one.
every excuses given why there as inactive as a boxer is not valid since boxers have the same circumstances as grant points out..its kick boxing with wressling.thats what it is..
they have there fan base and support and im more then ok with that..they train hard soo do fighters.when they press the action most of them run out of gas..many lack intelligent conditioning for there sport...
the baddest biggest toughest guy has 7 fights lost 2 and got his ass kicked by basic very basic boxing skills..thats brock..
the sport has a small limited amount of fighters and the promoter creates a star after they have 4 or 5 fights..yes they have to worry about takedowns ..thats part of there sport and you train for that..a boxer has to worry also about a great jab a guy who can punch stick and move..and several other things in there field..kicks geez.with a rare exception there teligraphed crap..ali was kicked more times in that farse with the japanese guy then most of thoses guys have been kicked in there career..
they have master wressling to a relatively high degree..the rest is amaterish BS....again the topic is there as inactive as fighters and grant has proved that..you can give all the excuses you want but the same excuses are also in boxing..there all poor ones..
