It looks like it's pouring rain, virtually no audio coming out (well at least we can't hear Max now). Maravilla in control first two rounds.

Murray in total control, he needs a KO though, no way he's winning a decision in Argentina.

Didn't score it but maybe a draw would have been fair. I don't really have a problem with Martinez getting it though.

I had the fight a draw..Sergio its time.his hand speed reflexes and footwork slowed a bit.murray fought a intelligent fight.a tight defence.hand in front of face.elbows tucked in and forearms covered the front of the body yet he attacked from there..Martinez needed to show more angles and attack the body behind thoses tucked elbows..pushing 39 sergios stamina is still very good but not like before..its time champ.go out on top.your a great credit to the game.

I think either 7-5 Martinez or 6-6 (Murray winning with the knockdown) is about right. Martinez looked his age though in the second half of the fight.

Sergio's power is not the same. This version of him loses to GGG.

Sadly, assuming he come's in halfway decent shape, it'll be Bum Jr. getting the win.

Martinez is shot. He lost his hand speed, reflexes and his legs. His days as a champion are numbered.

That's the problem with a guy who's game is based on speed and athleticism...once they go, you lose your primary weapons.

Zab rallied late against Garcia, still fell short.

If that's true, i'm wondering if it will ever heal properly at his age.

Didn't see the fight, but a lot of guys who get surgeries can never commit to the repaired knee again. Mostly for mental reasons. I'll have to watch on DVR.

Saying Martinez is shot is a bit premature. Martinez went into this fight with a hurt knee and broke his hand somewhere in the middle of it. He went on with the fight due to the huge ticket sales (45,000) and because he underestimated his opponent.

Murray's style was tough for Martinez. It was very similar to Chavez Jr's only Murray possessed far greater defense with that peekabo-style aggression. It was a brilliant gameplan from Murray.

Martinez, like the true champion that he is, grinded that thing out in the final rounds. What a tough, tough SLIM win. I would love to have seen a good replay of the no-call knockdown. They said they went to review instant replay, but my guess is that they had the same replays that we were watching (inconclusive). There had to be some foot tangle because the ref was right there.

At the end of the day, Martinez keeps his belts and rightfully so... but he needs to take some time off and let his body heal properly before engaging against ANY opponent in the future.

True, this would be a good time for him to retire. I would agree that he has been on the decline, mostly by how he's reacting to punches now.

shaun good post.i thought Martinez did get interference from murrays feet or his knee gave out for a second.he was on his way down balance wise before any puny grazing punch landed.the reff called it correct.
Martinez has no choice but to take time off to heal.broken hand some possible knee problems.a extra 2 months or so..if he fights again a late October date or early -mid November sounds in line.
im hoping he calls it a day.

There is too much money out there for him to call it a day. This guy had many lean years where he worked in restaurants and lived on couches as a pro. He won't retire until someone retires him.

hardcore you may be right.money wise I think hes comfortable.the chavez fight had to bring in 5 million plus the other million dollar hbo paydays.he may want one more good payday.a alvarez fight will bring him 5-6 million or more..ggg maybe close to 2 million and ggg could retire him.

I always look at what kind of credit these guys were on before their recent paydays. Big money brings wealthy fighters out of retirements. If there are more big paydays with rematch clauses and his health can improve, we'll see him for three more years.

I scored the fight 114-113 for martinez. could have gone other way.

Murray did very little in first 2 rounds and gave them to Martinez by default. Martinez won rounds 11 and 12 on my card as he wanted it more.

Martinez's body is betraying him. Injuries and age have taken a toll. I hope he retires. Paydays against Pavlik, PW twice, Macklin, Murray, Barker, and Chavez Jr. should have given him enough to live a very good life in retirement.

His body is betraying him. He has fought on reflexes and speed. Both are going with age and injuries. Retire.

Don't face Chavez Jr., GGG, or Quillen. Retire.
