Wimbledon
I forgot if we have any people that even watch tennis in passing. Anyways, did anyone see the Nadal upset? That has to be one of the biggest upsets of any sport of all time. Federer sneaks by the next day. Berdych is already out and several of the other seeded players also fell early. Best part of this chaos is the Olympics will be there a month later for a Wimbledon part II.

Re: Wimbledon
I don't think losing a tennis match in the 2nd round could be considered 1 of the biggest upsets ever. I've seen much bigger upsets in sports.

Nadal losing means Murray has a shot of reaching the final but he's been playing like poop lately.

Can you name one? I think its a bigger upset than Douglas over Tyson or the Miracle on Ice but I have a very American view of sports. The guy had only won one set in 5 Wimbledon qualifying tournaments while Nadal had reached the Finals every one of those years. Rosol plays on what is basically the minor league, the Challenger tour. I would equate it to an amateur winning gold in boxing then stepping in and beating Floyd.

Re: Wimbledon
Federer-Djokovic with #1 in the world and historic implications on the line for Federer. Tsonga through and probably Murray even though Ferrer is game. That is one tough mamajama. Serena has to run a gauntlet for the US to have a chance at something.

He wouldn't have fared better in the Sampras-Agassi era.

Re: Wimbledon
Murray was classy and vulnerable in defeat. I never think it is a shame to see an athlete cry. They have invested thousands of days into trying to achieve a singular purpose and people like Federer hog all the wins. I wish Murray well and think he has a good chance to win several slams in a couple of years. Federer will be too old and I think Nadal's prime will end at a similar time to Fed's due to his physical style. Djokovic will be there awhile but anything can happen.
However, I am also very happy Federer got the win. My fantastic year in sports continues.
