Yes he did, and no I didn't - I thought it would be much more competitive. Great performance from Froch !!
Not so good from Abraham.

I never thought I'd see Froch put on a boxing clinic like that against Abraham! Good for Froch!

I already saw shades of this in the Pascal fight. Froch wizened up. He brawled with Pascal for a couple rounds in the beginning but when he decided to stick to his jab and work smart, he dominated the action.

Well sure he did good, his opponent wasn't doing anything.

I agree, it reminded me of Clottey against Pacquaio! LOL!

Carl's workrate, power and control of distance prevented Abe from doing anything. everytime he tried to step inside he got a face full of Cobra jab

I mean give Froch credit for carrying out a great game plan, but Abraham did absolutely nothing to try and win this fight, pathetic performance.

Haven't seen the fight yet, but that sounds about right. Did he stop him?

no but the scores were 120-108 twice and 119-109 which was off one wild flush right hand Froch took comfortaby. he outboxed, outoughed , outfought and showed real world clss skills

Perhaps Froch is evolving. I've never seen him stick to the game plan like he did today. Maybe it was the fear of Abe's power that caused him to stick to it. I also think Abe was ineffective due to Froch's performance, not that Abe didn't fight, he's just one dimensional.

Re: Carl Froch put on a boxing clinic
Froch deserves alot of credit.
He beat Pascal
He beat JT (who was iffy for the tournament but he took care of it)
He beat Dirrell
He fought Kessler to an even fight
He beat down Abraham (though we all overestimated Abraham's abilities against top competition at 168)
that is fighting very good competition. No wussing out. Fighting hard. Adapting. He may be a cocky bastard but his performances back it up.
He is becoming another fighter that the sport needs more of.

Re: Carl Froch put on a boxing clinic
he does have a somewhat good resume but taylor was literally destroying froch every round until his stamina and chin gave out. so it wasnt as much froch coming back and winning, it was more that taylor just lost it himself. dirrell easily beat froch even though froch fouled all night. one of the worst decisions ive ever seen. kessler had just gotten whooped by ward and wasnt even the same fighter he used to be. from what ive seen of froch, he is an alright fighter that will be one of the best fighters in a weight class but never the best.captainanddew wrote:Froch deserves alot of credit.

Wow, if that is one of the worse decisions you've ever seen, must not seen a lot fights. That fight was by no means a robbery.
Dirrell ran, whined, and bitched the entire fight. You don't put on that kind of performance in a titleholders backyard and expect to win a close fight.

Re: Carl Froch put on a boxing clinic
i had dirrell winning pretty much every round. from the first round froch was holding and hitting and hitting behind the head and dirrell did one thing and the ref took a point away. froch rarely even landed a punch in the fight and dirrell landed a ton. the punch stats were way in favor of dirrell. he landed more and the bigger shots. and dirrell just fought like he always fights. if you want to call it running thats fine but it doesnt take away from the fact that he was still the only one landing shots.GrantZilla wrote:powerpuncher wrote: dirrell easily beat froch even though froch fouled all night. one of the worst decisions ive ever seen.

That's what you get for going off just punch stats. Punch stats don't tell shit. Froch was only one came to fight. Dirrell came to run, and peck, and bitch.
Any fighter with brains knows your not going to win a fight in a title holders backyard doing that.
And I don't know how you could scored that fight a shut-out for Dirrell

Anyone think that Abraham was just there for a paycheck? He was already penciled in the semi-finals.

You don't take a humilating ass beating like that just for a paycheck. He'd quit on his stool or pulled a Fraudley if that was the case

Nah I don't believe that, Abe's just Abe, a notoriously slow starter who hides behind a guard.
