Fonara: Andrew Golota is Training and in Great Shape
Polish light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara (21-2, 12 KOs) recently spoke to Matt Borek about his childhood idol and good friend Andrew Golota (41-8-1, 33 KOs). He says the 44-year-old heavyweight is still in training and looks very good in the gym. Golota has not fought since a stoppage loss to countryman Tomasz Adamek in October 2009. There are indications that Golota still wants to return to boxing.
"Andrew is still in training. Every day we see each other at the gym. We did not talk specifically about his return. I can see that he is in good shape. I think he's ready to go out to the ring. He lost a lot of weight and looks great! It would be nice to see Andrew in the ring one last time," Fonfara said. "Andrew is always at my fights. [After my fight with Byron Mitchell], he came to the locker room and congratulated me."
