Is Mayweather slowing down?
Is it just me, or does Mayweather look slower than he use to be on the bag and mitts?

yes but at the same time he will look faster than ever fighting Ortiz because the young fighter will be outclassed

Mayweather has really aged, but his skills are still great. Just see B-Hop.

See, I don't think can compare Mayweather to BHop. BHop never had the kind of speed and talent that RJJ and Mayweather had. So he had to rely on the craft and tricks. So him slowing down wih age was not as devistating.
I don't think Mayweather thinks he's slowed down and that he's not the same fighter he was.

I do think he's starting to slip, but it won't be enough for Ortiz to win. I think as he ages, Floyd will probably clinch and fight on the inside a bit more, not unlike B-Hop. I don't think he will fall apart the way Roy did.

I know this for sure. His legs didn't seem to have the same spring in his last few fights. But as his legs prevent as much movement and he is more flat-footed in the ring, he'll have to fight more inside (which I agree with the above and he will be able to do so).
Roy Jones got by on athleticism.
Floyd got by on athleticism AND craft.
He can probably find ways to alter his fighting style and be very effective. He'll be a bit more vulnerable, but that may draw fans in (as he might have to gut out more fights).

I think it's the opposite. He realizes he's slowed down and has begun to adjust. There's a reason he stood toe to toe with Mosley and relied on his jab more since his comeback. Even though he's lost a lot of speed and agility, I think he's stronger than before. The guy is a boxer first and an athlete second which is rare for guys with his level of physical talent.GrantZilla wrote:Diego408 wrote:Mayweather has really aged, but his skills are still great.
