first godfather didn't have that much brando. He was outstanding but Pacino had much more screen time. Great movie. Great cast. Brando (who the studio did not want) was outstanding. Pacino held up with the likes of Brando, James Caan, and Robert Duvall. Just thinking about it and next weekend will have to be a godfather weekend at Captain's house. Haven't watched the trilogy in at least 9 months, so definitely time.

2nd one is the one that polarizes fans of the original. Some hated the parallel story lines (Deniro as the young Vito Corleone rising to his position of mob boss and family patriarch, versus Pacino's family crumbling while he is the man). I love the movie. Alot of my friends didn't like the dual storylines and the back and forth skipping.

The 3rd one never should have happened. Plot didn't measure up the first 2 movies. Robert Duvall asked for what they considered to be, too much money, and thus they removed his character. Coppola's daughter was horrible in her role (which was prominent). Just didn't measure up to the other two. Just a little tweeking of the script, put someone decent into Coppolla's role, and get Duvall in the movie, and it could have been a worthy addition to the Godfather canon.

Thanks. I always vividly remember the 2nd one because of the scene where DeNiro stalks that Brooklyn boss and then whacks him, it was so well done.
