If UFC wants to be a monopoly...Time for government to get involved
In the US, monopoly is illegal, as well it should be.
MMA fighters are getting screwed. Either fight for Dana for peanuts, or you don't got a career.
IF White and UFC continue to monopolize MMA, then the government will get involved.
This is why government is involved in MLB, NBA, and the NFL. They will force a collective bargining and union for the fighters, so they won't get screwed over.
IS this what White wants

Vince McMahon did the same thing. He bought his biggest competition in WCW. For a couple years after that there was really nothing else other than WWE. Not until TNA and Ring Of Honor came around.

Dream is on the verg of bankruptcy. The company can't even pay their fighters. MMA in Japan is dead. Japans other big MMA org just lost their biggest sponsor recently pulled out and is filing for bankruptcy. I read it's expected Dream and K-1 is also doomed, since both owned by same sinking company, FEG. FEG also was unable to get a big enough sponsor to keep them affloat.
If Bellator gains any kind of success, UFC will do what it takes to crush them, or buy them out. Can bet on that.

And the government is involved in those sports because of just that. And why the players have a union.

The players have a union to protect them from the owners.
