Really? He was beat by Sonnen. He was given a gift vs Maia. The guy has lost a step. He is not the best anymore and I cant wait to watch him fall.

Silva submitted Sonnen and beat Maia with ease. He's also unbeaten in the UFC and has defended his title multiple times against legends.

I know he submitted Sonnen but like everyone else we could all see that Sonnen had him beat and he got lucky. I along with a lot of other people thought that Damian Maia won that fight. Hell all he did that fight is run away from him and occasionally touch the ground. There is a reason he and dana white apologized for his performance after the fight. Damn Ali I thought you were the big MMA fan?

Who has he beat? Faber is his best win. GSP has beaten the 2nd best welterweight ever(Hughes) twice. Demolished the 3rd best ever welterweight(Fitch) and since beating Serra hasn't lost 1 round.

I'll admit I just like Aldo and he's my top p4p guy based on how good I think he is and not what he's actually done. He wasn't fighting bums in WEC. Those were top flight 145ers and he was ruining them. He didn't beat Faber, he destroyed him.

The reason I have him #1 is because he's yet to show any flaws. I can't picture anyone at 145 touching him and I anticipate he's going to be a monster at LW too. Standing, I think he's as good an athlete and better technician than anyone in the sport. He can sprawl, he can control top position, and he's reportedly a bjj black belt. Maybe most important is how composed he looks in the ring. To me he looks like GSP with better striking/worse wrestling and a mean streak.

Aldo and Jones both represent the possibility of multidivision champs that UFC has not had much of in its existence.
