With middleweight Matthew Macklin of England having his fight against Winky Wright called off because Wright withdrew last week, citing a hand injury, Golden Boy, which recently signed Macklin, is working on another fight for him. However, instead of appearing on the April 9 Erik Morales-Marcos Maidana HBO PPV undercard as originally scheduled, Golden Boy's Schaefer said he was working on moving Macklin (28-2, 19 KOs) to the undercard of Amir Khan's junior welterweight title defense against Paul McCloskey in England on April 16.

It is good that they are getting him another fight. Hopefully the opponent will be decent and he can put on a good performance in front of what will likely be a very large crowd.
