Vitali Klitschko vs Tomasz Adamek in March at MSG ??

Klitschko has requested the opportunity to make a voluntary defense against Tomasz Adamek on the 40th anniversary of Ali-Frazier I in Madison Square Garden in March, 2011. According to Tom Loeffler, head of K2 Promotions, HBO is even interested in this bout. Klitschko would then make his mandatory defense no later than June, 2011.

Either brother is knocking out Adamek. Vitali doesn't have the bone crushing power in the right hand that Wlad does. Is that a good or a bad thing? Vitali will hit him more but it will take longer for the KO to come. Wlad wouldn't open up but when he did the right hand would lay Adamek out. Pick your poison.

Vitali is the wrong brother for Adamek to go after. His chin is as "Highlander" as Adamek's. Wlad on the other hand, would have to stave off an early assault, (which he probably would) but Tomaz might land some leather early to wobble him.

I disagree, Adamek doesn't poses enough power at heavyweight to even remotely trouble Wladimir, his best chance is to hope father time catches up with Vitali and outwork him to a decision.

im not that high on the highlanders chin..im glad hes getting the chance..hbo will try to sign this fight.

The only chance I give him is if he catches Wlad cold, you know...early on. Do you think he can withstand Vitali for 12 rounds? Adamek is not too hard to hit. Grant had him hurt after a while. Either way, both brothers should beat him. I'll say this, I wouldn't be upset if Adamek beat either one in any fashion. Wishful thinking though.

Adamek's chin is slightly overrated, he was knocked down by Dawson, wobbled by Cunningham, hurt by Arreola and almost stopped by Grant. It's his heart which carries him through deep waters.

His main weakness against both brothers his size, in todays division Adamek is a very small heavyweight.

Agreed. He doesn't have a granite chin. He doesn't have the power or speed that would be needed to catch Wlad cold in the first couple of rounds. Wlad would KO him and it would be rather scary.

at least he is stepping up. it will be a tough fight for adamek

If this fight happens, I hope K2 tells HBO to go fly a kite and takes it to Showtime instead. That would be a bit of payback.

Who'd have thought on the 40th anniversary of the "Fight of the Century" we'd see a fight between two white, European heavyweights the average sportsfan wouldn't even recognize in the same MSG ring for an almost forgotten title?

A better fight is Adamek vs Haye, sadly that fight doesn't seem to be on Haye's radar

maybe that fight can happen after both men are sorted out by the Klitschkos, Ali.

There are lots of fights I'd like to see Highlander Chin in, none involve the Klits. Rematch with Jabba Arreola, Haye, Boytsov, whatever

Not even a fair fight for Adamek to fight Vitali. It's like watching a featherweight take on a Light HW.

all the time we as fans ask for guys to be willing to take on the toughest challenges.

One of the rare times that we want a fighter (Adamek) to not be willing to take on the toughest challenges (Wlad or Vitali).

For the fans, it would be much more enjoyable to see Adamek in with the guys you listed. Those would be fights worth watching. Watching Adamek get destroyed by a Klitschko is far down my list of desired fight viewing.
