Luis Collazo now a free agent

Fightnews was informed moments ago that former world champion Luis Collazo (30-4, 15 KOs) is officially a free agent as of 12:01AM today. That is when Collazo’s contract officially expired with long time promoter Don King. Collazo has not fought since June of 2009. “I’m just hoping for the best possible situation for Louie and a very good 2011 for him,” stated Nirmal Lorick who is Collazo’s trainer/advisor. Lorick has worked with Collazo since Luis was 11 years old.

Since Maidana is fighting Morales, maybe Luis could fight Alexander?

That's actually an interesting fight, only problem is the weight because I remember Collazo saying he could no longer make 147lb last year.

Eh, yeah. Devon is too young to be making weight shifts at this point in his career.

Still an intriguing fight none the less, Collazo gave both Berto and Hatton hell.

I think so, unless Luis changed his diet during that exile.

I am pretty sure Collazo use to be Williams sparring partner at some stage, not sure if that would effect a fight happening.

Williams next fight is April 30th, think that would be do able
