Martinez vs Dzinziruk set for March 12th, Andy Lee vs Duddy on undercard

only qualm I have with it is that Sergei has been fighting at 154 for pretty much his entire career. But he is older (33 or 34 I believe) so he should be able to handle the change pretty well. And Martinez isn't a big middleweight, having fought at 147 early in his career and then at 154 for a long time.

I am surprised it took so long for them to make Lee vs Duddy, that fight should've been made years ago before Duddy lost to that journeyman.

I'm glad it's done and there will be a televised undercard fight. I have no problem with the weight issue as both men are really the same weight. 154 is a ridiculous division that shouldn't exist anyway.

HBO put their foot down and made these promoters work to make the negotiations work. This is how is suppose to be, HBO is going to have to demand fights they want, instead of settling for whatever the promoters want. Its HBO cash, they should dictate whatever because theyre the ones feeding the fighters, managers, promoters and training staff.

HBO should always televise an undercard match!

If going to have it in NEw England, should've been in Boston. Duddy-Lee would brought out the Irish

duddy-lee in boston would do well as a main event.

If it's for the Middleweight Title, then it should be at 160, not 154. Martinez is the champ. He gets to make the demands, not Dzinziruk.

It could be in between, Martinez has said he'd be willing to drop down to 155lb.

Wait I havent read anything saying it was a catch weight fight. it looks to me martinez has to give up a lot to get these guys to fight him, talk about being feared.

I haven't heard what weight the fight will be scheduled for, but Martinez has said many times he'd be willing to drop below 160lb if the price was right.

why all the discussion of a catchweight? I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe it's going to be at less than 160.

nah foxwoods sells out everytime. i agree that it should be in a bigger place but i remember going to foxwoods to watch freitas-raheem and it was sold out (with a lot of brazilian chicks ).
mohegan sun casino is right around that area and they unlike foxwoods have a arena that is much bigger maybe they should have held the fight there.
