Its the one thing he does much better than 90% of all promoters in either MMA or boxing.

He knows if he gives the fans what they want it would equal more money for the UFC. He's just a bully from time to time.

Whats really dumb is he has alienated a huge audience he could have watching his fights when he decided to commit to a verbal war with boxing. Seriously that should have been one of his target fan bases. Instead he made the hardcore boxing fan not like MMA.

And thats why he will never "kill" boxing as he says. Its hard to steal away a bunch of fans from a sport they love when you keep bashing their sport. That would be like a rugby league starting here in the US and to get attention they bash American football all the time. It will work for the people who are not Football fans but you also will piss off the football fans who probably would enjoy that sport.

That's true. Boxing will never die anyway because it's been around for so long and there are still plenty of dedicated fans. You get great fights in both and I hope they both stick around the long term. I just wish Boxing had 1 company running everything instead of having so many alphabet belts.

This is what both sports need to do.
1. They need one unified sanctioning body
2. Multiple promoters that way they can keep the prices for the fighters high.
3. One set of unified rules in which the champ is only allowed to fight the number one ranked fighter. This would allow for better fights for the fans and would take the pressure off of fighters to be undefeated.
4. Have a standard contract with no rematch clauses. The contract should always state that the higher ranked fighter makes 60%. If you are the champ you should get an automatic 65%.
5. How you determine who gets to promote the fight is if there are two promoters it automatically goes to a bid.

What do you guys think?

I really like number 4 and 5. Too bad there are too many greedy people that will not be willing to sacrifice for the greater cause.

My idea for boxing was actually for the 2 tv companies to not allow their boxers to defend alphabet belts and for the tv companies to make their own instead. That way the tv companies would basically be the organizations and we'd have far less belts.

If showtime and HBO started only allowing the ring belt that would work.
