Post  fightscorecollector Mon Dec 03, 2012 11:10 pm

Since the fight is a few days away and that i have recieved numerous requests on my scoing for the 3 fights. I have watched again and scored the 3 Pacquiao-Marquez fights for my" fightscorecollector" site.... http://fightscorecollector.blogspot.com

I have also added some stats from my scoring of the fight eg: how many rounds each fighter has won and total points accumulated in the 3 fights.

Any comments most welcome AND please add your scores in this thread

cheers

Fightscorecollector

ps: sorry ive not been on in a few weeks, had major broadband problems when changing internet provider - pain in the ass as i lost 3 hrs worth of writing with all the hatton scores from fans and press

Post  UBeeg9cats Mon Dec 03, 2012 11:34 pm

Thanks for the post.

I don't remember what rounds I had in each of the fights but I remember I had Pac 114-111, Pac 115-112, and I will go ahead and say JMM 115-113. I'm a big Pac fan and originally saw the 3rd fight a draw but I can see it as 7-5 for JMM just as easily.

I did some aggregation calculations about the first 3 fights earlier this year on this site. I can't seem to find it but it is insane to see how close the 3 fights have been scored by the media.

Thats why i think the 4th fight will be as close as the previous 3. Looking forward to it although not looking forward to my 12hr shift straight after the fight lol. Gives me a chance to get my article written though lol

We need to find those threads that everyone put their scores on. I will try to dig it up tomorrow night.

I had similar scores. However, I had the first fight the closest. I need to review it, but I had Marquez winning by a point or two. The last two, I had Marquez winning 8 rounds in both fights.

2nd: 115-112 Marquez
3rd:116-112 Marquez

its so weird how fights are scored. for example, for me, there is no way that i could see pac winning the 3rd fight. i thought it was clearly JMM. somehow though, some people scored it for him. but i guess people probably say the same thing about me scoring fights.

its because about 3-4 rounds in each fight are razor close so it's hard. Some rounds people gave jmm in the last fight PAC landed more punches but at the same time did jmm land the better punches? That's what made the last fight have such huge margins. The second fight I had it decided by the kd otherwise I had it a draw. This is the reason this rivalry will go down as one of the greatest in history.

Yeah the fights between Marquez and Pacquaio are almost fought on even terms. In the close rounds, I just see Marquez fighting more affective than Pacquiao. Marquez typically lands the better and affective punches in most rounds (well other than the KDs pac got on marquez in the first two fights). Marquez outlanded Pacquaio in the first two fights besides the third, however that was the fight where Marquez clearly dominated most of the fight.

their fights have to be the hardest to judge. I really can't wait until Saturday. I know I am in the minority on here but I would watch these two fight 100 times. They are just dead even which makes the fight so exciting. It's one of those rivalries we will be debating forever. Forget Floyd vs PAC the two best fighters of the last 10 years are fighting Saturday.

i corrected myself. I meant Marquez clearly dominated the third fight. The first fight was te closest and the toughest to score, but the second fight Marquez clearly won a close fight. In the third fight I don't believe Pacquiao won more than 4 rounds.

for me, i think that marquez most clearly won the 1st fight. if it werent for 3 KDs in the first round, i think i would have had pac winning 3 rounds.

the third fight for me was still pretty clear that marquez won. the second fight was very close and i thought that it could have gone either way. so IMO, marquez clearly won 2 of the fights and barely won 1.

i had it 2-1 for pac.the first two fights i scored it exactly like letterman round for round.the third fight i thought marquez won 8-4..all 3 fights were close no doubt.36 rounds and the only thing seperating the 2 were the knockdowns.
logic and reasoning based on these fights says the forth will be the same.a close fight maybe a point seperating the two ..fans of both as well as the camps of both will claim victory.
myself im a pac fan but im not confident of picking a winner here at all.
toss logic out the window for i have a feeling the fight the first 4-5 or so rounds will be even then a punch turns it around and the next 3 rounds or so theres a beatdown.a ko or stopage aroud rounds 8 ro 10.who wins.i realy dont know.

I actually had it 1-1-1 for the 3 fights. Given the mandatory 10-6 first round in the first fight pac won that. Marquez won 3 and the 2nd I had a draw. Then again, they were all within a round or two so no scoring is outrageous (except the last one, marquez won 3 decisively IMO)

see I can see that. These two match up so well we really could have it one way or the other in every fight. That's why I always enjoy them getting in the ring

they do, but fighting a 4th time doesnt answer any questions if either is KOd it will because they have lost more than the other. I'd prefer to see them both tested against different people personally. Broner for either at 140 would be very interesting for starters.

Yeah but when they made the fight there was really not a ton of fights out there. Broner was already tied up. I would love to see both retire after this. I mean what else do they have to prove? Both are HOF fighters and there is no one out there that really looks dangerous outside of Pac vs Floyd. And I would hate to see either guy stick around so long that they deminish so much that they lose badly to guys who shouldnt beat them. JMM needs to call it a day after this fight no matter what. he is 39. Pac needs to call it a day if no Floyd.
