Wow 65 million people in Japan tuned into Naito-Kameda last year
Old news, but I didn't know that many people tuned that. 43.1% TV rating. That's fucking insane!

The Kameda brothers are like Mayweather in Japan, brash, cocky and slick fighters.

Probably the second Ali-Spinks fight at the Superdome. Live free TV. 63,000 in attendance

I gotta feeling that Holmes vs Cooney was seen by a huge contingent of folks simply by the way they promoted it and televised it. It was on closed-circuit and pay-per-view television all over the world. A week after the bout, it was re-broadcast on HBO, and later still, on ABC-TV.

Big fights would work in Japan. Pride was massive in MMA, it's just the organization was messed up. The Japanese love good fights. And they love having talented non-Japanese fighters to watch as well.

Yup. Ever since Ali went there, Japan has loved boxing. They loved Tyson and still do.

The Japanese love anything big. They are obsessed with it. Sumo, Godzilla, Bob Sapp.....etc.
