James Kirkland to now train with Kenny Adams
Ran into Kenny Adams, one of the best trainers in the business. He has lightweight prospect Sharif Bogere fighting on the Khan-Maidana undercard. It was good to see Adams up and around. Kidney issues put the 70-year-old in the hospital recently, but he said he was fine and back at work. He said he expects to soon be training junior middleweight James Kirkland, whose return is expected early next year. Kirkland, of course, recently was released from prison and is serving the remainder of his time in an Austin, Texas, halfway house. He was supposed to fight on Saturday's undercard until he wound up back in jail briefly about a month ago. Adams, a favorite of Kirkland co-manager Cameron Dunkin, said he expected Kirkland in Las Vegas in mid-January. Kirkland could use somebody like Adams as a role model and to teach him the finer points of defense.

Re: James Kirkland to now train with Kenny Adams
If Adams gets Kirkland to fight behind a jab and improve the defense then he can be a force after a few tune up fights.
